Урок развивающего контроля по английскому языку в 6 классе по теме «The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland»

Цель: формирование у учащихся способностей к осуществлению контрольной

            функции.

Задачи: формировать способности, позволяющие осуществлять контроль, создать

               условия для осуществления контроля изученных понятий и алгоритмов.

IT: We have spoken about the UK and today I want to know what have you learned about this country. So the first task is: Listen to my stories and guess what part of the UK is it and put the number under the titles.

England           Scotland        Wales            the Northern Ireland

1. It is the historical center of Great Britain. The national day in this part is on the 23d of April. The national symbol of this part is the red rose and the flag called St. Georges` Cross. There are many universities here.  The most well-known educational centers are Oxford and Cambridge.
2. It is the most northern part of Great Britain. This part is rich in beautiful nature, lakes and mountains. They are proud of their culture which comes from ancient times. The national symbol of it is the thistle and the flag called the St. Andrew`s Cross. On their national day on the 24th of June men still wear kilts and play bagpipes.
3. This part of the UK has its own language, customs, holidays and music. The symbols of it are the Red Dragon and the daffodil. They celebrate their national day on the 1st of March. Children wear their national costume with tall black hats and long dresses. Their national game is rugby. This part is rich in waterfalls. The biggest has a height of 74 meters.
4.  This part has one of the best gardening climate in the world, because winter is rather warm and the days are long and sunny. There are many beautiful castles, theaters, museums in this part. The national symbol of it is the clover and the flag called the St. Patrick`s Cross. They celebrate their national day on the 17th of March. This part is worth seeing if you like adventure, travelling and nature.
