Location Location Location Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, located in the United States. It is located along the border between California and Nevada. It is in fact the largest alpine lake in the North America.

Formation and Fame: Lake Tahoe was formed about two million years ago and it was shaped during the ice ages. It is known for the clarity of its water and the panorama of surrounding of the mountains that surround it on all sides. The most interesting thing? It never freezes!!! and it’s really cold to swim during the summer time .

Fun Facts about Lake Tahoe depth: Did you know that Lake Tahoe is the second deepest lake in the US? And it’s deepest point is 501 meters . That makes Tahoe the 16 th deepest lake in the world , but on average over all depth, the 5 th ! Here is the picture of lake Tahoe's depths

Fannette Island The Island contains what is left of “Tea House”, a building constructed by the owner of Vikingsholm . You can only get there by boat, canoe, or kayak. Swimming, however, to the island is not allowed. There are many hazards that even the best swimmers may face, including extremely cold waters and boat traffic in the area. …is the only island in Lake Tahoe.
