A Visit to Mr. Pickwick’s Club.
1. Greeting.
Good morning, my dear friends!
We are glad to see you in our Club of learners of the English language. I am sure that you know the names of Tom Sawyer and Mr. Pickwick, because you have been learning English for four years already.
So, one team’s name will be Tom Sawyer’s friends and the other team’s name will be Mr. Pickwick’s children. Today we speak only English, remember it!
2. The first task is the revision of the English ABC
We are going to play now.

He wasn’t tall but bright and talented. He was an English film actor. He played
in silent black and white comedy films. He had a good sence of humour. Later
he lived in the USA.
2). This man was a spokesman. He was born in Russia. He loved his country and
its people. He was the first man in space. He flew into space in 1961 on board
the ship “Voshod”.
This man was a great Russian writer. He wrote the best novel famous in the
whole world. Everybody likes to read “War and Peace”.
3). He was a famous Russian general. He became the head of the Russian army.
He gave a fight to Napoleon when Russia was in great danger.
He was a short story writer and the greatest American humorist. He began to
work at the age of 12. He was a sailor. He wrote about Tom Soyer.
