Тема “Travelling” (based on a audio text “A Laconic Answer”)

Цели урока:  

           1. Практическая: совершенствовать умения и навыки восприятия и понимания речи на слух на основе текста и темы урока;

           2. Развивающая: на основе актуализации практического материала и выполнения учебных задач способствовать формированию умения анализировать и сопоставлять, формулировать мысли, развивать культуру речи;

           3. Воспитательная: создать условия для развития у учащихся духовно-нравственного начала, художественно-эстетических идеалов как основы художественной культуры с опорой на национальные духовные ценности.

Тип урока: урок закрепления знаний, совершенствования умений и навыков.

Форма урока: комбинированный урок с применением мультимедийной презентации.

 

Оборудование: раздаточный материал (карточки с опорными словами, фрагменты текста, карточки с заданиями), мультимедийная презентация, разноцветные карточки для деления учащихся на группы и проведения рефлексии, магниты.

Ход урока

Этап I. Организационно-мотивационный этап.

Цель этапа: введение в атмосферу иноязычного общения, подготовка учащихся к работе, развитие навыков неподготовленной устной речи, развитие воображения, формирование познавательных мотивов.

Время: 3’

Teacher: Good morning, children! Today at the lesson I will be your teacher of English. My name is Irina Vyacheslavovna. And I will try to remember your names using badges that I gave you before the lesson.

  • Ok, let’s start our lesson!
  • What is the weather like today? Yes, really, the weather is not nice. But if it is warm tomorrow I will go for a walk with my son.

Этап II. Речевая зарядка.

Цель этапа: развитие навыков неподготовленной устной речи.

Время: 5’

Teacher:  - What will you do if the weather is fine tomorrow? (Ответы нескольких учеников)

- And what will you do if the weather is bad? (Ответы нескольких учеников)

Teacher: Let’s hope for the best and wait for warm and sunny days.

  • And what will you have in summer? That’s right! You’ll have your summer holidays.
  • What do you like to do during your summer holidays?

Teacher:  People like to visit different countries during their holidays. A lot of them prefer to visit these countries. (Слайд)

  • Have you heard about Egypt, Italy, Greece, Turkey, France, Germany, Finland, Britain and Spain?
  • Have you ever been to any of these countries?
  • Would you like to visit them? (or: Do you want to see them again?)

Teacher:  I would like to visit these countries too. If I go to Italy I will taste real Italian pizza. And what will you do if you visit any of these countries? (Ответы учеников)

Этап III. Определение  темы и целей урока. 

Цель этапа: создать условия для целеполагания учащихся.

Время: 1’

Teacher:  Visiting different countries people learn a lot of new and interesting things about their traditions and history. Today you will learn something about one of these countries. You will listen to a story and we’ll talk about it.

Этап IV. Аудирование текстов.

Цель этапа: развитие навыков аудирования, усвоение новых знаний, активизация употребления учащимися изученного языкового материала.

Время: 6

 

Предтекстовый этап:

Teacher:  Listening to the story try to find the answers to the following questions: (слайд)

  1. In what country did the story take place?

2. Who lived in the Southern part of this country?

(первое прослушивание текста)

- Who is ready to answer the questions?

Teacher:  You’ll listen to the story once again and please, pay attention to the details and make the sentences on the cards complete. Work in pairs.

  1. The people who lived there were … . (brave)
  2. They loved their Motherland and … (defend) it from all the enemies.
  3. “The shorter the … (better)”, was their rule.
  4. “Never … (use) more words than you need”, was another rule.
  5. So, he … (collected) a great army and soon he became master of Greece.
  6. The letter said: “If I … (win) the battle with your army, I will … (become) your king and ruin your great city”.
  7. A few days later an … (answer) was brought back to him.

  1. Crossword. Заполнение кроссворда информацией из текста.

Teacher:  Now let’s divide into 2 groups and see which group was the most attentive. Who can do the crossword the first?

  Этап VI. Проведение зарядки для глаз с музыкальным сопровождением.

Время: 2’

Teacher: After doing the crossword it’s high time to rest a little bit and … to dance. We are talking about Greece, so we will try to dance traditional Greek dance “Sertaki”.

2) Make up questions on the story. Составление вопросов по прослушанному тексту.

Teacher:  Make up questions on the story. Start your questions with the words in brackets.

2. The Lacons loved their Motherland and defended it from all the enemies. (Who…?)

Teacher:   Now, please, ask your questions to the other group.

Teacher:  Make up a story to answer the following questions. (Cлайд)

(Учащиеся составляют мини-рассказы на основе прослушанного текста. Одна группа представляет высказывание, другая дополняет и корректирует).

Послетекстовый этап:

  1. A title to the story. Заголовок для истории.

Teacher:  Give the title to the story and explain why you think that this title is the best. Work in groups.

  1. Proverbs. Комментирование пословиц.

Teacher:  What sentences from the story you’ve heard that can be used as proverbs? (Слайд)

- What do they mean?

- What other proverbs do you know? (Слайд)

- How do you understand these proverbs?

Этап VII. Домашнее задание.

Цель этапа: объяснение требований к выполнению домашнего задания.

Время:  1’

Teacher: I see that you’ve understood the proverb “East or West home is best” correctly, but most people like to travel to different countries. Soon you’ll have your summer holidays and some of you we’ll travel. May be you’ll travel to the country about which to will read at home. Open your record-books and write down your home task for tomorrow. It is Lesson 20 in your “Readers”. Read the story “A trip to Britain” and we’ll discuss it at the next lesson.

ЭтапVIII. Подведение итогов урока. Рефлексия.

Цель этапа: создание условий для оценочной деятельности учащихся.

Время:  4’

Teacher: Our time together is coming to an end. You helped me very much today. But I want you to tell me if you are glad at the end of the lesson. I prepared for you a funny picture of a bus that finishes its traveling around Greece and two kinds of your faces: happy and sad. If you feel happy come up to the blackboard and stick a happy face. If you feel sad – choose a sad face.

And I get on the bus with a happy face. I liked to work together with you very much. And now it’s your turn to get on the bus. Comment on your choice. Use any of the phrases on the screen. (слайд)

I want to say thank you for your work and to tell you some words about your results.
