Считаю, что проведение уроков и внеклассных мероприятий в оригинальной, нетрадиционной форме направлено не только на развитие основных видов речевой деятельности, но и на формирование ассоциативного мышления, памяти, навыков, общения в коллективе, творческой инициативы школьников.                                                                                                                                                                                    Творческий характер заданий, предлагаемых в ходе конкурсов, игр и соревнований, способствует лучшему запоминанию и усвоению различных грамматических явлений, расширению лексического запаса, развитию монологической и диалогической речи, а также открывает широкие возможности для индивидуальной работы школьника.                  Все это способствует формированию и развитию более широких и разнообразных интересов детей, их склонностей и способностей. Кроме того, это создает условия для мотивированного практического применения иноязычных навыков и умений,  дает возможность детям увидеть результаты своего труда и получить от  него радость и удовлетворение.

                                                            в 9 классе.

Цели и задачи:

- совершенствование лексических, грамматических и произносительных навыков;

- расширение кругозора учащихся через лингвострановедческую информацию;

- развитие творческих способностей и коммуникативных навыков, умение работать в

  группе;

- повышение мотивации к изучению английского языка у учащихся;

- формирование толерантности, уважительного отношения к культуре и традициям страны

   изучаемого языка.

Ведущий:  Hello everyone! I am glad to see you. Today we are going to talk about America. Do you know much of its past and its present?  We shall know it. We shall have the competition today « What have you learned about America? » Today all of you have a good chance to improve your English during the game. Now let me introduce our guests.  They are  Paul and Helen. Together with them you will learn a lot about life in this country, its history and its traditions.   Welcome!                                                                                                                Paul:   Hello! Im glad to see you.  My name is Paul and I will lead an excursion today.  Welcome to America!  At present the USA is a highly developed  country. It is one of the largest countries in the world. It is rich in coal, oil, iron and natural gas.  Among the most famous places of interest are the Great Lakes, Niagara falls, the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco, the Statue of Liberty, the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, the national memorial Mount Rushmore and others. The capital of the country is Washington D.C. Some of the biggest cities are New York,  Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and others.  The United States of America consists of 50  States. Most of the names of the States  are derived from the names of Indian tribes and the names of the kings of England and France. The capital of the USA is Washington.  The White house is the official residence of the President of the United States, located in Washington. The famous Hollywood Walk of Fame – one of the most sight of Los Angeles. It’s the most unusual monument to talent and success in the world.  The Statue of Liberty was a gift of the French people to the centenary of the American revolution.  Its one of the most famous symbols of America. The National memorial Mount  Rushmore is the monument that celebrates the memory of some great people in American history, the most respected presidents George Washington, Tomas Jefferson, Theodor Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. The flag of the USA has 13 red and white stripes representing the original 13 states and 50 stars – for each of the 50 states of the country. People of  many nationalities live in the USA.                                                           Helen:  Hello! Im glad to see you!  My name is Helen. Welcome to America in the past. In the middle of the 15^th century some European countries began to send their ships to discover new sea routes to far off lands. One of these explorers was Christopher Columbus from Spain. When he saw an unknown land he thought that it was India. That is why they called the local people living there red-skin Indians. But Columbus was mistaken. It was an island near North America. This discovery took place on the 12^th of October 1492. But this new land got its name America a little later when an Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci described it in his writings in 1499.  The pilgrims sailed to America from England in 1620. They came to America for religious freedom. They were among the first European settlers in America. The name of the ship was the  Mayflower. They landed at Plymouth Rock, in whats now the state of Massachusetts.   The Indian taught the pilgrims how to hunt, fish, plant and survive in America. The pilgrims had their first good  harvest. They were thankful and decided to celebrate with a Thanksgiving feast. American still celebrate Thanksgiving Day on the fourth Thursday in November.  Later on, more and more people from many countries came to live in America. England considered these new territories as its colonies and soon the newcomers began to fight for their independence. Commandering-chief of the North American army was George Washington. His troops won this War for Independence and on July 4. 1776 the famous Declaration of Independence was signed. George Washington was elected to be the first American President.
