Пояснительная записка.

Основными целями и задачами Олимпиады являются выявление и развитие у обучающихся творческих способностей и интереса к английскому языку, создание необходимых условий для поддержки одаренных детей, пропаганда лингвистических и социокультурных знаний, связанных с историей и современным функционированием различных вариантов английского языка и историей и культурой англоязычных стран.

Задания олимпиады  носят проблемно-поисковый характер и выявляют творческий потенциал участника.

Для обеспечения комплексного характера проверки уровня коммуникативной компетенции участников  школьный этап олимпиады проводится по четырем конкурсам:

 конкурс понимания устной речи (Listening)

 конкурс понимания письменной речи (Reading)

 лексико-грамматический тест (Use of English)

 конкурс письменной речи (Writing).

В связи с техническими сложностями, связанными с проведением конкурса устной речи (Speaking) , было принято решение его не проводить на школьном этапе.

Продолжительность конкурса для 5-6 классов – от 45 до 60 минут.

При подготовке олимпиадных заданий для школьного этапа сформирован пакет заданий, который включает в себя:

1. Текст заданий по четырем конкурсам,

2. Лист ответов участника,

3. Ответы (ключи) к заданиям,

4. Аудиозапись для конкурса понимания устной речи,

5. Скрипт (текст) аудиозаписи,

6. Критерии оценивания конкурсов и схему подсчета баллов по школьному этапу,

The London Underground and the Moscow metro

The London Underground is the oldest one in the world. In 1870 there was the opening of the first line. It was like a tube, that's why English people call the old lines the Tube, the new lines the Underground.

The London Underground is very long. It’s about 300 kilometers long and it has about 300 stations. Some of them are closed on Sundays. The other stations are closed on Saturdays and  Sundays. The price of tickets isn't low (низкий). It depends (зависит) on the distance. There are comfortable seats in the carriages at the Underground. The walls are white or grey. There are a lot of ads (реклама) on them.

So the word "Underground" in London shows you where the stations are. When you want to find the metro stations in Moscow you look for the letter "M".

The Moscow metro began its work on the 15th of May, 1935. There were 13 stations at that time. Now it has more than 190 stations. A metro ticket costs 55 rubles. Our metro is one of the most beautiful, comfortable and the cleanest metros in the world. We are proud of it.

The wonderful world of computers.

British mathematician and inventor Charles Babbage designed the Analytical Engine in 1833. It was the first computer and it was mechanical. Babbage spent 37 years trying to build this machine but the technology was too difficult for him. However, modern computers are based on his original design and he is remembered as “the father of the computer”

The first electronic computer was developed in 1946, filled entire room and weighed over 30 tons! It could do an impressive 5,000 calculations per second.

The first computer game, Pong,( a version of table tennis) was created in 1972 by a student from the USA. There are thousands of games. Companies have brought a lot of new technology into the gaming world to produce the highest quality graphics. The games are becoming much more real.

Tourist Attraction.

Every year, millions of tourists come to London to see and listen to Big Ben. But, what exactly is Big Ben?

Most people think that Big Ben is the tall clock tower that stands above the Houses of Parliament. Well no! Big Ben is not the clock tower. It is one of the four huge bells inside the tower. I s name comes from the bells commissioner of works, Sir Benjamin Hall, or Ben. The tower is 98 metres high. The bell inside the tower is 14 tons. The clock on the tower is also huge. Each of the clockfaces is 7 metres wide. The hour hands are about 3 metres long and minute hands are above 4 meters long.

Perhaps one day you can go to London and see this amazing tourist attraction.

Reading - максимальное количество баллов 12. Задание проверяется по ключам. Каждый правильный ответ оценивается в 1 балл. За неверный ответ или отсутствие ответа выставляется 0 баллов.

Use of English - максимальное количество баллов 19. Задание проверяется по ключам. Каждый правильный ответ оценивается в 1 балл. За неверный ответ или отсутствие ответа выставляется 0 баллов.

Writing - максимальное количество баллов 10. Задание оценивается по Критериям оценивания.

При подведении итогов баллы за все конкурсы суммируются.

Максимальное количество баллов за все конкурсы – 47 баллов.

WRITING - Критерии оценивания.

Внимание! При оценке 0 по критерию "Содержание" выставляется общая оценка 0.
