о проведении конкурса по английскому языку

для  учащихся  9-11 классов

«С чего начинается Родина?»

1.Общие положения

1. Данное мероприятие проводится в целях:

-воспитания у обучающихся интереса к истории и культуре Иркутской области;

-воспитания чувства патриотизма и гордости за свой родной край;

-развития творческих способностей детей;

- поддержки способных и одарённых детей.

1.2. Работа конкурса строится на материале регионального компонента

1.3.  Настоящее положение определяет порядок организации и проведения конкурса по английскому языку.

В конкурсе могут принимать участие обучающиеся 9-11 классов общеобразовательных  школ Иркутской области.

2. Цели и задачи конкурса

При изучении иностранного языка очень важным является вопрос социокультурного образования средствами иностранного языка, в частности, овладения способами представления родной культуры в иноязычной среде. В наши дни нередко возникает практическая необходимость рассказать на иностранном языке о родной культуре и обычаях, о родном крае, в котором живём, его достопримечательностях, памятных событиях, традициях, экологии. Поэтому для этого предлагается пройти конкурс, который поможет некоторым учащимся проверить и расширить свои знания в данном вопросе.

 Основной целью конкурса является повышение мотивации к изучению английского языка и обогащение знаний о родном крае.

Задачи конкурса:

2.1 проверка уровня владения английским языком

2.2 поощрение и поддержка учеников, заинтересованных в углубленном изучении английского языка.

2.3 расширение социокультурных знаний обучающихся о Сибири

2.4 закрепление знаний об Иркутске и Иркутской области

3.Организация и проведение конкурса

Организацию конкурса осуществляют учителя английского языка.

Конкурс рассчитан на дистанционный вариант выполнения.

4. Содержание конкурса «С чего начинается Родина?»

Конкурсная работа включает задания тестового характера с множественным выбором, а также задания, направленные на поиск информации в разных областях знаний: географии, литературы, истории и т.д.

Ответы на задания, направленные на поиск информации, даются на английском языке. В зависимости от характера задания они могут быть краткими или развёрнутыми.

5.1.  Предлагается составить акростих к слову Irkutsk , отразив в нем свое представление об Иркутске.

5.2. Викторина “Как хорошо ты знаешь Иркутскую область?”

5.3. Задание  по теме «Флора и фауна Байкала»

5.4.Задание: Письмо из Иркутска. Количество слов 100-120.

 5.5.  Интеллектуально-творческое  задание “The Siberian Taiga ”.

Задания конкурса предусматривают владение страноведческой, и исторической информацией о наиболее известных достопримечательностях, исторических событиях, известных  людях  Иркутской области, а письмо предполагает применение знаний об экологии места, где проживают обучающиеся.  

Участники конкурса могут пользоваться любыми источниками информации: словарями, справочниками, глобальной сетью Интернет и другими.

6.Основные критерии оценки

6.1. При подведении итогов учитываются:

-правильность и точность ответа;

- полнота ответа(для творческих заданий);

-общее оформление работы;

-языковая грамотность;

Task 5.. “The Siberian Taiga”.

Siberian forest is the largest  in the world.  Over half of  it has never been logged. It is a home to indigenous people who hunt, fish and gather here. It is fully functioning, giant ecosystem. The taiga represents mankind’s last chance on this planet to preserve intact system in their natural state. This forest is alive. Wolves roam free across its great expanses. Brown bears, elks, wolverines, northern lynxes  and reindeer depend on the taiga to meet their daily needs of food, water and shelter. Birds feed on the seeds of larch, spruce, and      pine or eat berries. Some feed on the dormant insects in winter, The relationship between trees of the taiga and the lives of these animals and birds is crucial. Directly, or indirectly, the yield of conifer seeds limits the number of wild animals that can be supported by the taiga.

The taiga’s permafrost lands are sensitive and recover slowly after disruption. Crowing conditions are exceptionally harsh, making it difficult for a seedling. Timber operations conducted on permafrost cause a special set on problems. Permafrost melts quickly after it has been logged increasing erosion.

The pressures on this great forest increase while global deforestation and debates continue. The far of the taiga figures into resolution of planetary crises like the green-house effect and global warming. Scientists suggest that giant forest ecosystem like this one play a crucial role in the self-regulating system that maintain conditions favorable to life on this planet. It may well be that the continued functioning of enormous forest ecosystem like the taiga is a key to the survival of life on the Earth.
