Инструкция по выполнению работы
На выполнение проверочной работы по английскому языку даётся 40 минут. Работа состоит из четырех разделов и включает в себя 28 заданий.
В разделе 1 (задания по аудированию) предлагается прослушать несколько текстов и выполнить задания на понимание прослушанных текстов. Рекомендуемое время на выполнение заданий данного раздела - 10 минут
Раздел 2 (задания по чтению) содержит 8 заданий на понимание прочитанных текстов. Рекомендуемое время на выполнение заданий данного раздела - 10 минут.
Раздел 3 (задания по грамматике и лексике) состоит из 11 заданий. Рекомендуемое время на выполнение заданий данного раздела - 15 минут.
В разделе 4 (задания по письму) дано 5 заданий, предлагающих записать вопросы, используя предложенные опоры. Рекомендуемое время на выполнение заданий данного раздела - 5 минут.
Ответы к заданиям 1-13 записываются в виде одной цифры, которая соответствует номеру правильного ответа. Эту цифру запишите в поле ответа в тексте работы.
Ответы к заданиям 14-24 записываются в виде одного или нескольких слов, которые нужно записать в поле ответа в тексте работы.
Ответы к заданиям 25-29 записываются в виде вопросов, которые нужно записать в тексте работы.
При выполнении работы не разрешается пользоваться учебником, рабочими тетрадями, справочниками, словарями, иными справочными материалами.
Советуем выполнять задания в том порядке, в котором они даны. Для экономии времени пропускайте задание, которое не удаётся выполнить сразу, и переходите к следующему. Watching TV is the most popular and favorite pastime for millions of people all over the world. Of course, there are other ways to relax like reading or listening to favorite music or playing sport, but TV still is an indisputable part of our life. Often we turn on TV even if we don’t have time to watch it- you wake up in the morning, go to the kitchen and drinking your morning coffee. When you come home from school or return from work, you also turn on TV to watch the news or just as a background.
TV can become some sort of companion to lonely people, especially the elderly. They usually have plenty of free time and almost nothing to do, their children and grandchildren live their own lives, so TV becomes their only friend. They watch soap operas and news, talk shows and even advertisement just to avoid feeling lonely.
TV is also a solution for parents, who sometimes get really tired of their children because they can have a rest, while the child is watching cartoons or movies for children. There are also special programs for children on TV that not only entertain, but also educate them, telling about different countries and places, about nature and the world around us.
Of course, watching TV all day long is unhealthy. There is a lot of “rubbish” on the screen nowadays, but still there are some good points as well: TV can be a source of education, you can get some useful information by watching special programs and watching some good old films together can be a great way to spend a family weekend. This way of spending free time is especially popular during Christmas holidays, when all members of family gather for celebrating and enjoy each other’s company.

Система оценивания
итоговой контрольной работы по английскому языку
8 класс
Правильное выполнение каждого из зданий оценивается 1 баллом. Задание считается выполненным верно, если ответ записан в той форме, которая указана в инструкции по выполнению задания, и полостью совпадает с эталоном ответа. Если ответ неверный, ответ содержит орфографическую ошибку или ответ отсутствует, он считается неверным.
Максимальное количество баллов -29.
На основе баллов, выставленных за выполнение всех заданий работы, подсчитывается общий балл, который переводится в отметку по пятибалльной шкале в соответствии с % выполненных заданий.

New Year is one of the main holidays of the year. According to the Gregorian calendar, which is now used almost all over the world, the New Year begins on the first of January, although there are still cultures that calculate the new year by different calendars. Still almost every nation has a tradition of celebrating the beginning of the new year.
In China New Year is the most important holiday of the whole year. It is also called Lunar New Year, because a lunisolar calendar is used in China. In some ways Chinese traditions of celebrating are similar to those of the European countries: people buy presents for each other, decorate their houses and all members of the family gather on the Eve of Chinese New Year for a feast.
As well as in China in Japan New Year is the time for a great festival. People cook special food called osechi and there is a tradition of sending New Year postcards to friends and relatives. At midnight on December 31st the bells on Buddhist temples ring 108 times and after that a celebration feast begins.
Unlike European countries, in Islamic traditions the New Year begins on the first day of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic calendar. An Islamic year is eleven to twelve days shorter than a year calculated by Gregorian calendar.
Although the traditions of celebrating New Year may vary in different countries, there are still some basic features similar to all of them , like giving presents to each other, cooking special food, singing, dancing and often lightning fireworks and having all kinds of family- oriented activities.

Having a pet is great. No matter what it is - a dog or a parrot, a hamster or a cat, having a pet brings you joy and happiness. Once you take a pet, it soon becomes a member of your family that gives you love and devotion; it becomes your friend that will never betray you. Our pets love us not because of money or our social status, they don’t care for our appearance, they just love us for being who we are.
Having a pet is also a great responsibility. You can have a tiny goldfish or a huge St. Bernard – in any case, it needs care and attention. One must not forget that a pet is not some kind of a toy, but a creature with its own character and needs. This creature fully depends on you and it is your duty to take care of it.
Two most popular pets are cats and dogs. Because of the great variety of breeds it is possible to choose the one that would be perfect for you and your family. But you have to remember that each animal is unique and sometimes it takes a great deal of time and effort to find the right one.
Small children usually like hamsters or domesticated rats as pets. They are cute and funny, and it is easy to take care of them. Most of the time they spend eating or playing, and watching them is fun. Children can pet them and give tasty things like cheese or nuts. White mice can also be a good choice of pet for children.
Pets can become great companions for lonely people and for the elderly. People with no family or those whose relatives live far away usually consider their pets as their family. They talk to them, play with them and feel like they are not alone. Elderly ladies mostly prefer cats and often they have more than one.

Flowers are probably one the most fragile and beautiful things in the world. The diversity of sizes and shapes and the variety of smells and colors are amazing. There are luxurious roses and orchids, and plain, but nevertheless beautiful chamomiles, lovely daisies and clear, almost transparent snowdrops. There are even carnivorous flowers, that gain energy by captivating insects.
Nowadays each country has its official flower, serving as the country’s emblem along with other national symbols such as national flag, coat of arms, national colors and national anthem. This sort of emblem is called a floral emblem. It is a red rose for England, a cornflower for Germany, an iris for France and a lotus for Egypt. The floral emblem of Russian Federation is chamomile.
Flowers can also be a source of income. The business of selling flowers is called floristry. This term also can be applied to production and cultivation of flowers. Flowers can be bought online, in the supermarkets or in the garden supply stores. Flower design is also popular nowadays and there are a lot of courses, where one can learn about the meanings of flower combination or how to make bouquets.
Probably the most famous art of flower arrangement in the world is Japanese ikebana. The Japanese themselves regard this art as a way of bringing human and nature together. While creating ikebana one must keep silent in order to feel the real harmony and beauty of nature. Another feature of ikebana, that differs it from European traditions of flower arrangement, is its employment of minimalism.
In the past, flowers were often used as a means of communication and a so-called language of flowers (floriography) was very popular. Each flower had its own meaning and the right combination of flowers could be used as a replacement for a letter or a postcard. For example, red rose meant love, sunflowers were used as an indication of respect and anemone for the disappearance of hope.
