1. Организационный момент.
Teacher : Good morning, dear friends. Nice to see you. How are you? So, let’s start our lesson!
2. Мотивационный этап, речевая зарядка
1) Teacher: Read the proverb and translate it.
“There are many paths to the mountains, but the view is always the same.” (Chinese proverb) (слайд)
Student1; «Много дорог ведут к горам, но вид всегда один»
2) Teacher: Answer the questions:
- Is it difficult or easy to get to the top?
Student 2; I think, it’s difficult.
- What is sometimes compared with the top of the mountain in our life?
Student 3; In my opinion, it’s success.
- We are going to speak about successful people and how to become a successful person nowadays!(слайд )
- According to Macmillan English Dictionary "success is the achievement of something that you planned to do or attempted to do" (слайд)
Teacher:

P1: Can I? So, well, probably success is earning a good salary.
P2: Well? I think success is having enough time to do what you are interested in.
P3: Personally I think success is achieving what you set out to do.
T.: Any other ideas?
P4: Can I? Well, as far as I see it success is being liked by everybody and becoming famous.
P5: May I? Well, to my mind success is being promoted at work.
P6: May I? In my opinion success is getting married and raising children you love.
Teacher: Every person is unique and special. Everyone has equal chances to become successful in something. Success means different things to different people. But all famous or successful people had one thing in common. They listened to their inner voice and believed in themselves, they understand that there is so specific formula of fame, fortune and success.
- "How to become famous and successful ?" - this is the question we are going to answer today.

Teacher: Look at the photos of successful people. Do you know them ? What is he/she famous for?(слайд 2)

1. Right, it’s Joanne Rowling - is the most popular writer of the recent years thanks to her Harry Potter series. But, life wasn’t always magical for J. K. Roling. She has had some times but she never gave up on her writing.
2. Agree with you, Evgeni Plushenko is a Russian figure skater. He is the only male figure skater in the modern history of the sport to have won four Olympic medals competing in four Olympic.
3. Yes, Madonna is a pop singer, song-writer, and actress. In 2003 Madonna published her first children’s book:" The English Roses".

You are right! Steve Jobs is an American entrepreneur and inventor. And today our lesson is devoted to the genius of computer technology - Steve Jobs. And our theme is “Steve Jobs- a genius of our time” (на слайде)

We are going to read a text about Steve Jobs. Read the following bits of information about Steve Jobs, put them in a logical order and speak about this legendary person of the computer world. (сделать на learningapps.org Ex. 3b, page 110.)
- In 1976 Steve Jobs, Wozniak and Ronald Wayne established Apple. Some years later Steve Wozniak created a new personal computer which carried Apple forward. Its name was Apple II. Steve Jobs worked on the design and sales of the new device.
- At the end of his life Steve was taken ill. His illness was diagnosed as a rare form of cancer. He died on October 5, 2011, but remained Chairman of the Board of the company till his dying day.
- Steve was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs who became his parents and taught him to read at an early age.
- Steve Jobs was born on 24 February 1955 in San Francisco. His full name was Steven Paul Jobs.
- Later Next was included in Apple and Steve returned to work for it. He supervised creation of the iMac, iPod, iPhones and other company’s products.
- Paul was a mechanical engineer and worked for a corporation which produced lasers. He taught Steve elementary electronics.
- Soon there began a race for power in Apple, Steve Jobs lost it and left the company. He decided to found a new corporation which was called Next and produced computer technologies.

On each sheet of paper there is a vertical line in the form of a path to the top of the mountain. Starting with this initial point that is at the bottom "January,2023" you should show your own way(s) to the top of the mountain symbolizing your future success "January, 2037".
Remember to say:
what and where you will be in 14 years;
what way(s) you will choose, what you need for it.
