Упражнение. При помощи вспомогательного глагола do / does и частички not мы строим отрицательное предложение в Present Simple. В следующем упражнении нужно вставить don’t / doesn’t, тем самым образовав отрицание.

Families come together and celebrate the birth of Jesus , love, peace and kindness.
They decorate their houses in the traditional way.
Evergreen trees are symbols of eternal life.
Christmas trees are set up in houses. They are always decorated with fairy lights, angels and small toys. Little packets with nuts, candies and special biscuits are hung on the tree.
Children hang their stockings up on the mantel. A legend : once, Santa delivered gifts, and when getting through a fireplace, he dropped some gold coins into stockings that were drying there.
« Jingle Bells » « We Wish You a Merry Christmas » Usually children come around in the evening to the front doors and start singing carols and people who live in these houses give children candies, nuts, pies and so on, to thank them for carol singing.
In the centre of London, in Trafalgar Square British people gather around the huge Christmas tree.
The next tradition is writing a letter to Santa Claus and waiting for him and his reindeer with a bag full of presents in a sleigh.
Santa Claus
On Christmas Eve, before going to bed, children, in the hopes of getting better presents, leave biscuits or pieces of pie and some milk near the mantel for Santa plus a carrot for his deer Rudolf .
The second Christmas day is called “Boxing day”. The reason is that Santa puts the presents under the Christmas tree during the night of the 25th to the 26th of December and the next day, all unpack their present boxes.
People enjoy traditional plum puddings, stuffed turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pies.
Branches of holly are put up behind pictures and mistletoe is hung over doors, so the young people have a chance to kiss the girls under it, plucking each time a red berry from the mistletoe.
