Цели: обобщить знания учащихся по теме “Я и моя семья”, закрепить знания учащимися букв английского алфавита, развивать навыки диалогической и монологической речи; развивать креативность; воспитывать у детей чувство взаимопомощи, умение работать в парах и команде; повысить интерес к изучаемому предмету.

 

Оборудование: костюм Mrs. Letter, карточки с буквами, дипломы и призы участникам.

 

Ходмероприятия

 

Teacher:Good afternoon pupils and guests! Today we are celebrating ABC Holiday. The main heroine of our holiday is Mrs. Letter. Please meet Mrs. Letter!

 

Mrs. Letter:Good morning (afternoon) children, parents and teachers!

 

Pupils:Good morning (afternoon),

 

Good morning (afternoon),

 

Good morning (afternoon) to you!

 

Good morning (afternoon),

 

Good morning (afternoon).

 

We are glad to see you.

 

Mrs. Letter:

 How are you, pupils? I hope you are fine.

 

Pupils:Fine.

 

Mrs. Letter:

Let me introduce our judges (introduces judges). They will give you and count your points. (1 point for each correct answer)

 

At our holiday we have two teams and we will name them. Oh, but how? Well, I have an idea. Name me the letter of English alphabet (the team the first to name the letter gets the name “А”) and the last one (the second team is called “Z”). Let’s start. Today we will play a lot of games and the first game №1 is for captains. Meet the captains. This is… and this is… (names the captains). You … and you… ask and answer each other questions.

 

Captains:

Hello! – Hello!

What is your name? How old are you? How are you?

Can you run? Can you jump? Can you skip? Can you swim?

Have you got a cat (a dog, a pig, a cow, a hen, a rabbit, a frog (a mother, a father, a sister, a brother)?

 

My name is …..  I am 8 years old. I can run. I can jump. I have got a mother, a father, a sister, a brother, a grandmother … I like English.

 

Mrs. Letter:

 Thanks a lot for your dialogs. You can speak English and that’s great. And can you read and write? Do you know all English letters? Before the next game I want you to answer my questions about the alphabet.

Task № 2

1. Сколько букв в английском алфавите? 26

2. Каких букв больше: гласных или согласных? ( согласных)

3. Сколько гласных?  6

4.А сколько согласных? 20

5. Назови гласные, по написанию похожие на русские ( A, E, O, U, Y)

6. Какая гласная по написанию не похожа на русскую? ( Ii )

7. В каких парах гласные буквы большие и маленькие похожи друг на друга? (Оо, Uu)

8. А какие из согласных похожи на русские? ( B, C, H, K, M, P, T, X )

9. В каких парах согласных большие и маленькие буквы похожи? ( Cc, Pp, Ss, Vv, Ww, Xx, Zz )

10. Назовите другое название алфавита (АВС или alphabet )

Task № 3

 Oh, but I have a serious problem. All the letters in my bag are mixed. Help me to put them in pairs: big and small. (Gives cards with letters to the participants, e. g. a - A to join them together Aa)

 

Mrs. Letter:

 I see you know all the letters very well. Name them please.

(Pupils name their letters)

 

Mrs. Letter:The next task № 4.

Two pupils from different teams stand near the board. They have a sheet of paper with the word. One of them names the letter and the second writes it on the board and reads the word. (1 point for each correct letter).

 

Mrs. Letter:

 Well done! (Almost) all the letters are correct. And do you know how to read the letters? Let’s check it intask № 5.The quickest gets 1 point.

 

Which letter is read as /r/, /e/, /k/, /h/, /kw/, /w/..? (Pupils name the letters, show them and say the words with this letter).They are: R, E, K, H, Q, W.

 

Mrs. Letter:

 I think you are pretty tired. Let’s do some exercises. But I can’t do them because I am not young. Who can help me?

 

Pupil:I can.

(He or she stands in front of the pupils and they sing a song “Clap your hands!” *36,39)

Mrs. Letter:Excellent! But can you make words?

 

Let’s play game 6.

Take a card and read the word on it. Pupils take cards and read the words. Each pupil has got only one card. ( Judges count correct words, 1 point for a word)

 

Mrs. Letter:

 You are very smart and bright. You know everything. I am very sorry but it’s time to finish our holiday. And let’s do it with a merry song about English alphabet. It is our final game. (The pupils sing the song, judges count points) *63
