Lifting equipment of this type consists of a structure of four supports on which a working platform or two separate ladders are installed. Such devices, as a rule, have large dimensions and high load capacity (up to 45 tons), which determines the main scope of their application – maintenance of trucks, buses and special equipment. Four-post lifts are well suited for use at control posts and for adjusting the angle of installation of wheels (camber-convergence). However, many standard procedures will not be possible to perform on such equipment, since vehicles are lifted not over the thresholds, as is the case with other types of lifts, but over the wheels.
