Teremok is originally a small wooden house. The characters of the fairy-tale are: mouse (myshka), frog (lyagushka), hare (zaichik), fox (lisichka), wolf (volchok), bear (medved')

Никто не отзывается. Вошла мышка в теремок и стала в нем жить. | Nobody answered. The mouse went into the house and began to live there. | |
Прискакала лягушка: | A frog hopped by: | |
-Терем-теремок! Кто в тереме живет? | - Little house, little house! Who lives in the little house? | |
- Я мышка. А ты кто? | -I am a mouse. And who are you? | |
- А я лягушка. Давай вместе жить! | -I am a frog. Let's live together. | |
Стали мышка с лягушкой вдвоем жить. | So the mouse and the frog began living together. | |
Бежит мимо зайчик. Увидал теремок и спрашивает: | A hare ran by. He saw the house and asked: | |
-Терем-теремок! Кто в тереме живет? | - Little house, little house! Who lives in the little house? | |
- Я мышка. | -I am a mouse. | |
-Я лягушка. А ты кто? | -I am a frog. And who are you? | |
- А я зайчик. | -And I am a hare. | |
Прыгнул зайчик в теремок, и стали они втроем жить. | The hare jumped into the house and all of them began living together. | |
Идет лисичка. Постучала в окошко: | Then there came a fox. She knocked on the window: | |
-Терем-теремок! Кто в тереме живет? | - Little house, little house! Who lives in the little house? | |
- Я мышка | -I am a mouse. | |
-Я лягушка | -I am a frog. | |
- А я зайчик. А ты кто? | -And I am a hare. And who are you? | |
- А я лисичка. | -And I am a fox. | |
Забралась лисичка в теремок. | The fox climbed into the house too. | |
Прибежал волчок: | A wolf ran by: | |
-Терем-теремок! Кто в тереме живет? | - Little house, little house! Who lives in the little house? | |
- Я мышка | -I am a mouse. | |
-Я лягушка | -I am a frog. | |
- А я зайчик. | -And I am a hare. | |
- А я лисичка. А ты кто? | -And I am a fox. And who are you? | |
- А я волчок. | - I am a wolf. | |
Волк влез в теремок, стали они впятером жить. | The wolf climbed into the house too, and they all started living together. | |
Идет мимо медведь. Увидал теремок да как заревет: | A bear walked by. He saw the house and roared: | |
-Терем-теремок! Кто в тереме живет? | - Little house, little house! Who lives in the little house? | |
- Я мышка | -I am a mouse. | |
-Я лягушка | -I am a frog. | |
- А я зайчик | -And I am a hare. | |
- Я лисичка. | -And I am a fox. | |
- А я волчок. А ты кто? | -And I am a wolf. Who are you? | |
-А я медведь косолапый! | -And I am a bear!!! | |
Влез медведь на крышу и Трах! - раздавил теремок. | The bear started cimbing onto the roof and - crushed the whole house! | |
Разбежались звери кто-куда! | All of the scared animals ran away in different directions! |

The Rabbit and the Bear
One day a rabbit was sitting in the forest under a big tree. He was eating nuts. Suddenly a hungry bear came out of the bushes.
“Grr!” the bear growled. “Rabbit! I am going to eat you for dinner!”
“Well, have one of these nuts first,” said the rabbit politely.
The bear tasted the nut.
“It’s delicious,” he said. “Tell me where you got these nuts,” he ordered.
“They are growing under the ground,” said the rabbit. “I pulled up some weeds and found the nuts. Please help yourself”, said the rabbit, smiling. “I don’t know which weeds are growing nuts and which aren’t.”
The bear started pulling up the weeds. The rabbit got up and quickly disappeared in the forest.
