Ход урока

1. Подготовка учащихся к иноязычной речевой деятельности.

1. Приветствие.

Т: Hello, everyone! Here is the bell and it’s time to start our lesson. I hope everybody is fine.

2. Сообщение задач урока.

Т: Today we are going to learn some ways to spend free time popular in Britain and we’ll try to understand the importance of hobby in one’s life.

To value your work I give you tables to fill in by “+” or “-“. You’ll do it at the end of the lesson.

3. Речевая разминка.

T: So, what hobbies popular in Russia do you know?

P1: Watching television.

P2: Collecting stamps.

P3: Sports.

P4:…

T: Nice job!

II. Отработка ранее введенного языкового (лексического и грамматического) материала и овладение видами речевой деятельности.

1. Совершенствование навыков понимания прослушанного.

Т: And what hobbies popular in Britain do you know?

Учащиеся высказывают предположения.

Т: Now you are going to watch a video. Listen to it carefully and try catching what hobbies are the most popular in Britain. Put them into the following table

Учащиеся смотрят видеосюжет и заполняют таблицу.

T: So, could you name the most popular hobbies in Britain?

P1: Playing sports.

T: Right!

P2: Watching television.

T2: That’s the way!

P3: Dancing.

T: Very well!

Учитель записывает их на доске.

T: And now would you like to read aloud your table?

T: Nice job! So, is it important to have a hobby? Are people happy when they spend their free time as they like?

2. Совершенствование умения чтения.

T: And Uncle Oscar, the main character of the text that you have read for today, what hobby did he have?

P1: Collecting stamps!

T: Right you are! And now I’d like you to work by teams.

Учитель делит группу на две команды.

Поисковое чтение и совершенствование навыков техники чтения

T: Look through the text again and find all you can about:

Team 1 Uncle Oscar’s appearance and character

Team 2 Uncle Oscar’s family.

You are supposed to read it aloud.

Учащиеся зачитывают найденную информацию в тексте.

T: Well done!

Проверка понимания прочитанного и совершенствование грамматических навыков

T: The second task is to ask 5 wh-questions on the text to the opposite team. And the opposite team should answer them. But don’t ask the same question, please. You are supposed to ask in chain. You have 2 min at your disposal.

На доске написаны вопросительные слова, с которыми учащиеся задают вопросы друг другу (Who, What, Where, When, How) и отвечают на них.

T: Nice job!

Совершенствование умений монологической речи

T: Why did Uncle Oscar disappear? Find out as many motives as possible and complete the following fish bone with a felt pen. Two members of each team should tell it to others. You have 3 min at your disposal.

Учащиеся заполняют предложенную схему и представляют ее другим в виде монолога.

T: That’s the way!

3. Завершающий этап урока.

1. Запись и объяснение домашнего задания.

T: For the next lesson, think of the end of the story and tell it to your classmates in 10-15 sentences.

2. Выставление оценок, подведение итогов.

T: Well, you tried and you did your best. Thanks for your work, attention and activity! It’s time now to count your points. I like you to value your results by yourselves. Fill in the tables, please. What do you have more: pluses or minuses?
