The purpose of the lesson: to form an idea of the concept of financial intermediation; to provide information on the concept and types of financial intermediaries; to show the advantages and potential problems of financial intermediaries; to list the main financial intermediaries; to consider the concept and essence of commercial banks; to analyze the main indicators of the development of the banking system in the Republic of Uzbekistan

2.1. explains the terms of the first task. Tells to the students to make the task in pairs. Student should discuss in pairs and find the best option from the right column to solve each problem from the left column.

4.1. explains the terms of this task. Tells to the students to make the task in pairs. Student should read small text divided into 2 columns “Why do we need financial intermediates?” Students should discuss in pairs and answer on 2 questions:

Activity 3 to control the understanding of the learned material and use of practical knowledge of students

6.1. explains the terms of this task. Tells to the students to make the task in groups. Student should discuss in groups what financial intermediaries exist in the Republic of Uzbekistan? After the discussion they should fill in the table noting “Yes” or “No”.

6.2. gives 3 minutes for work in groups.

6.3. tells to the students to present their answers, listens, corrects mistakes, comments.

Activity 3 to control the understanding of the learned material and to develop skills in the description of tables

8.1. explains the terms of this task. Tells to the students to make the task in groups. Student should discuss in groups the main indicators of the development of the banking system in the Republic of Uzbekistan. After the discussion they should write 50 words essay on the main trends.

8.2. gives 3 minutes to discuss the task in groups and to find out the main development trends.

8.3. tells to the students to write 50 words essay on the main trends.

8.4. tells to the students to present their answers, listens, corrects mistakes, comments.

8.5. summarizes the answers, makes conclusion.
