In summer of 2011, I travelled to Kazakhstan for the home of my parents. I have been in the southern capital of Kazakhstan - the city of Almaty. I traveled by train .

Almaty is the cultural center of the Republic of Kazakhstan. There are a lot of sights and cultural centers.

In Almaty there are 14 theatres, 7 concert halls, 2 philharmonic, 11 orchestras, 13 ensembles. There are 32 museums, 20 art galleries, 115 monuments of architecture and monumental art. There are 18 cinemas, a circus and 920 sports facilities.

"Medeu" is the most mountainous complex in the world for winter sports. It is situated at an altitude of 1691м above the sea level. The best skaters of the world called the almaty skating rink "factory of records", more than 200 world records was established there. The Chimbulack VII Asian winter games were held on the ice of the SUN "Medeo in February of 2011 ".

Mountain Kok-Tobe, is located near the city. Its height above the sea level is 1130 m. You can go up to Kok-Tobe on the twisting road, the one on the cable car.
