I live in a wonderful place – stanitsa Veshenskaya. Veshenskaya is situated on the left bank of the upper river Don. It is one of the most picturesque places in the world. It has a favorable geographical position. The most beautiful view is the panorama of our stanitsa from the high right bank of the Don, where there is a monument of an eagle.

The stanitsa is surrounded by beautiful pine forests, where there are a lot of animals, such as hares, wolves, bears and foxes. Our stanitsa Veshenskaya has a pure ecology.

Veshenskaya is fomous as a birth place of the greatest Russian writer M.A. Sholokhov. He lived and worked in our place. There is a complex of Sholokhov’ s museums here. In the centre of Veshenskaya there is also a big Christian church. The religious services, weddings and religious celebrations are held there. Next to the church wall there is a monument to the first world cosmonaut Y.A. Gagarin, who visited our place in 1967. Also we have a beautiful embankment, in the centre of which there is a monument to M.A. Sholokhov. Sholokhov street is the main street in our stanitsa. Different shops, restaurants, a Music school, a library and a college are located there.

Every year many tourists come to our place. They go sightseeing and learn about the history of our stanitsa. I am very proud of my stanitsa.
