History of Chees boxing The first world championship was held in the middleweight title in Amsterdam in 2003. The winner (for chess timeout) was Hype Rubingh . October 1, 2005 European Championship was held in Chessboxing heavyweight: Bulgarian Tihomir Titschko defeated German Andreas Schneider in the 7th round (Schneider losed chess game).

Rules Combat consists of 11 rounds, odd rounds - chess, even - boxing. Between rounds - pauses for 1 minute. Time control in a chess game - 12 minutes per player. One chess round lasts four minutes, one boxing round lasts 3 minutes
