Hello everyone! In this presentation I would like to tell you about some interesting theatres in St-Petersburg , the capital of Russian culture.

The most well-known theatre in Saint-Petersburg is Mariinsky Theatre. It was inaugurated in 1783 according to a decree of Catherine the Great.

Mariinsky Theatre keeps the spirit of Art, amazed people by it s magnificence and splendour .

Alexandriisky Theare is one of the oldest theatres in Russia. It was founded in 1756.

The Theatre of Opera and Ballet is located in the historical building on the Arts Square . Mikhailovsky Theatre was opened in 1833 according to the order of the Emperor Nicholas I.

The theatre was named in honour of Grand Duke Michael , the youngest son of Paul the I.

The Young People's Theatre is one of the first professional theaters for children in the world. The theatre was founded by Alexander Bryantsev and opened on February 23, 1922 with a performance of "The Little Humpbacked Horse."
