Language is something taken for granted. But 93% of our communication with others is non-verbal.. This includes writing, dance, music, painting, mathematics, and sign language.

Sign language or body language refers to any kind of bodily movement or posture, including facial expression, which transmits a message to the observer.

The study of body language is conducted at present mainly by anthropologists, linguists, and social psychologists, who refer to this science by the name of kinesics — the study of non-verbal communication or communicative body movements. Body language is an important part of communication which can constitute 50% or more of what we are communicating. If you wish to communicate well, then it makes sense to understand how you can (and cannot) use your body to say what you mean.

Aim: This study was performed to find out if every part of the human body, either in motion or stillness, conveys a meaning which depends upon the physical, social, and cultural context of the action.

Research objectives:

-         To study and to describe how people communicate through posture, gesture, stance, and movement

-         To identify cultural differences of body language

-         To carry out a survey aimed at  working out rules of communication in different situations

Hypothesis: Body language may provide clues as to the attitude or state of mind of a person. Method of Research
