Я хочу познокомить вас со своей презентацией. Презентацию полностью выполнила на английском языке. Цель презентации - узнать достопритмечательностях Нью-Йорка. В начале презентации показала на катре 5 районов. Полностью погружаясь в него, дети будут запоминась новые слова и поглубже узнают Нью-Йорк. Рассказывая о достопримечательностях Нью-Йорка приводится статистика по городу, касаемо населения и его национального совета. Благодаря этой презентации, надеюсь, что дети узнают больше про Нью-Йорк и смогут рассказать про этот замечательный город другим людям на английском языке.

Places of Interest in New York The city is situated on the east coast of the Atlantic Ocean and consists of five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Richmond and Queens. New York is also known as New Amsterdam or the Big Apple. The population of the city is over 8 million people and every year more than 48 million of foreign tourists come to visit it. There are a great number of places to visit in the city, but one of the most famous sights is the Statue of Liberty. People from all over the world want to take a photo with this giant sculpture of a woman, who is the national symbol of freedom. Another famous sight is the Broadway Street. One of the architectural wonders of New York is a famous Brooklyn Bridge, which crosses the East River strait. The length of the bridge is 1825 meters and it connects Manhattan with Brooklyn. Other interesting architectures in the Big Apple are the skyscrapers: Empire State Building and Chrysler Building. Guggenheim Museum, American Museum of Natural History and many others. All in all, New York is a special city, which can offer its visitors thousands of attractions.

The Statue of LibertyStatue The Statue of Liberty of Liberty is one of the main sights of New York City and the symbol of freedom of all Americans. It’s the statue of a graceful woman with the flare in her hand, which enlightens the world. The structure of the woman is colossal. Its total height is about 93 meters. The woman only, without the flare and the base, is 46 meters. When visitors want to reach the spiky crown of the statue they should overpass 356 stairs. The Statue of Liberty is situated on the Liberty Island, which is not far from Manhattan. The full name of the statue is “Liberty Enlightening the World” and it was presented to the USA by Frenchmen on 28 October 1886 in order to commemorate the centennial of the American Revolution. Thus, the statue symbolizes freedom and democracy of American nation. Another remarkable symbol is the crown on the head of Statue of Liberty. It has seven rays on it, which symbolize seven continents and seven seas. The crown also contains 25 windows symbolizing earthly gems and heavenly rays, which illuminate the world.

Washington Square Park Washington Square Park is one of the best-known of New York City's 1,700 public parks. At 39,000 m², it is a major landmark in the Manhattan neighborhood of Greenwich Village, as well as a popular meeting place and center for cultural activity. It is operated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. Most of the buildings surrounding the park now belong to New York University. The university rents the park for its graduation ceremonies, and uses the Arch as a symbol.

The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States, stretches 1825 m over the East River connecting the Manhattan and Brooklyn. On completion, it was the largest suspension bridge in the world and the first steel-wire suspension bridge. The bridge cost $15.1 million to build and approximately 27 people died during its construction. The Chrysler Building is an Art Deco skyscraper. It has 77 stories. Standing 319 meters high, it was originally built to house the Chrysler Corporation. The spire, measuring 58.4 meters long and composed of Nirosta stainless steel was hoisted to the top of the building on October 23, 1929. The lobby is similarly elegant and a must see for tourists. When the building first opened, it contained a public viewing gallery near the top, which a few years later was changed into a restaurant. The former observation floor became a private dining room called the Cloud Club.
