The object of my work is a book. The subject is the history and development of a book. The aims are to study the history and development of a book, to discover the attitude to digital books of the teenagers and adults .

The earliest books In Greece and Rome the tablets were covered with wax. Writing on the wax surface was performed with a pointed instrument, a stylus.

In Assyria and Babylonia people wrote on the clay tablets with a piece of wood. Then they baked them and kept on the shelves.

In Ancient Egypt, papyrus was used for writing. Papyrus books were in the form of a scroll for a total length of up to 10 meters or even more. Some books were over 40 meters long.

In 1971 Michael Hart invented a digital book. On July 4, 1971, after being inspired by a free printed copy of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, he decided to type the text into a computer, and to transmit it to other users on the computer network . Hart founded Project Gutenberg - one of earliest digital libraries of free e-books.

In the 1990s electronic books began developing very quickly and e-book readers were invented.
