Project ‘‘Foreign signs and symbols in our life’’

Project type: Information and research project

Project timeframe: 1 month

The participants of the project: Veronika Sizova,  Maria Chemisova,  Anastasia Papkova, Anna Cheremisina (the pupils of Grade 8a)

Coordinator of the Project:  Inna Nikolaevna Tereshchenko  (the  teacher of English of the highest  qualification category)

Institutional framework: the English language, 7 -11 grades

Objectives of the Project: to call people to think about what they do with their bodies, and what they wear

Justification of the project: such a topic is very actual nowadays, as it might draw attention of the teenagers to ridiculous and vulgar signs on the clothes they buy; and to the awful tattoos they spoil their body with

Goals:

• Analyze clothes with bad-meaning signs
• Make a survey in social networks and interview people in our town
• Get to know about tattoo's meaning

Work schedule:

First phase:  Search for relevant information from different sources

Second phase: Selection of the most interesting and useful information

Third phase: Interviewing the people in the street

Fourth phase: Public speech (Project presentation)

Fifth phase: Evaluation of the project by other students and teachers

The product of the project: booklets and P. P. Presentation

BE CAREFUL, TALKING SINGS!

What is dangerous?

• signs can be stupid;
•  signs can be obscene;
• signs can be double-meaning;
• sings can call for forbidden things.

How to avoid it?

• while buying clothes you need to translate the sign;
• use Google translator;
• ask somebody for help;
• learn English!

PAINFUL, EXPENSIVE, FOREVER!

Don’t forget that you may fall ill after getting a tattoo

When you become older, your tattoo will look ugly

It’s very difficult to get rid of a tattoo
