Altai reserve is located in the mountains of southern Siberia in the Altai Republic.

Along the borders of the reserve are high ridges. The flora of the reserve is rich. Algae and lichens are more than 500 species. Plants-1 480 species. The forests of the reserve consist mainly of coniferous species: Siberian larch, Siberian cedar and Siberian fir.

It is home to more than 70 species of mammals, 6 species of amphibians and reptiles, more than 300 species of birds.
