Once in the UK in November, you will notice that many wear on clothes paper red poppies. Poppies blossom on the clothes of passers-by, they are literally everywhere - on the streets, in offices, at events. Politicians, public figures and other celebrities will certainly appear in public with red poppies on their clothes . Red poppies in the UK have become the symbol of the Day of memory of victims in wars . Every year on 11 November at 11am held a moment of silence in honor of the dead.

In the framework of the charitable action "the family: a Proclamation poppies" ( Popy Appeal), handing out red poppies in October-November in exchange for 1 pound or any other reward, and the money goes to help Fund war veterans . Armistice day is often called the Memorial Sunday. In these days of military monuments laying of the poppy wreaths, and in the yards of churches the memory of the little crosses with poppies. The second Sunday of November - the so-called Funeral Sunday (Remembrance Sunday), when in the English churches the service is conducted in honor of those killed in wars . In London to commemorate the first anniversary of the Truce was established a monument, Kenotify on Whitehall. Cenotaphe in the Greek language literally means an Empty Tomb. The inscription on it reads "glory to the fallen".

Each city, district, town, village in Britain has its own memorial. People bring back poppies and wreaths in memory of family member or friend killed during any of the wars. Wreaths, poppies and crosses, brought the local people the memory of their friends and relatives killed in the war.
