He was born in the 3th of November, 1982, in the village "Sunny“, Khabarovsk area, USSR. When he was 3 years old, his family moved to Volgograd.

At the age of 4 years old he started skating. His first coach was Tatyana Skala . Because of the closure of theVolgograd ice arena he had to moved to St. Petersburg without his parents in 11 years. His mother followed him the next year.

The main start of Plushenko`s career was at the Olympic Games in 2006.

In December 2009, Evgeni Plushenko became the champion of Russia for the eighth time.

In January 2010, Eugene won the « European Championships 2010 » in Tallinn, set a new world record and beat the previous record, which was set by him at the Olympics in 2006.
