Viktor Vasnetsov Viktor Mikhaylovich Vasnetsov was born on May the 15th, 1848 in the village Lopyal Vyatka province. From early childhood, Victor painted, and in the works of the boy one could feel talent. Victor Vasnetsov graduated from the Academy in 1873, and began to exhibit during his studies in 1869. First, the artist's works were included in the exposition of the Academy. Later, after his accession in 1878 to the Association of travelling art exhibitions, in exhibitions organized by the Association.To this period belong such his works as "Knight at the Crossroads", " Alyonushka ", "Ivan Tsarevich on the Grey Wolf", "Three bogatyrya " and many others. On July 23, 1926 at the age of 78 V.M.Vasnetsov died. Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov left a rich heritage to descendants.

" Bogatyri " –is a picture of Victor Vasnetsov . The common name of the picture - "Three bogatyrs ”. Vasnetsov worked on the painting for nearly twenty years. April 23, 1898 it was finished and soon bought by Tretyakov for his gallery. " Bogatyri

The painting depicts Three bogatyrs - Dobrynya Nikitich , Ilya Muromets and Alyosha Popovich (Russian bylinas main characters). In the middle on a black horse , Ilya Muromets , looks away from the palm . In one hand bogatyr holds a spear , and the other holds the mace. To the left side on a white horse Dobrynya Nikitich , takes the sword from its scabbard. To the right side on the horse Alyosha Popovich , holding a bow and arrows. In comparison with his friends he is young and slender.
