Annotation

        The research work by Vladislava Kopitsa “The History of my family” touches

the social problem - the revival of the family in our society. Of the acute problems

causing public concern the restoration of the family tradition to remember and

honour the memory of the ancestors is beginning to assume paramount

importance.

        If a person does not know the history of his ancestors he is ignorant,

ungreatful and not happy because he can not be proud of his ancestors, their

heroic deeds and heritage. He is not able to be a good parent and a responsible

citizen. Only good and happy families in the long run make a happy society.

        Learning about family history is necessary because it is essential to

understand ourselves. Family history also helps to keep memories alive and

allows each generation to have an idea of who they are and where they come

from.

Hypothesis:

Each person must know the history of his family.

Purposes:

1. To learn the history of the family.

2. To understand how to keep alive the history of the family for future

generations.

3. To try to get classmates interested in the idea of learning more about their

ancestors.

Tasks:

1. To learn what science will help understand the genealogy.

2. To make up a genealogy tree on the mother's line.

3. To collect and study the historic documents.

4. To understand how to keep the history of the family alive on the basis of the

materials.

5. To publish a genus book for the descendants.

Methods of research work:

1. Conversation, interview.

2. Studying archival documents, registers of births, marriages and deaths.

3. Studying letters, diaries and photos of the relations.

Conclusion:

        The author has realized the purpose and the tasks of the research work. She

succeeded in making up a family tree on the mother's line. She got her classmates

interested in the idea of learning more about their ancestors. The hypothesis that

each person must know the history of the family was confirmed.

Introduction

        Family relations have always played a very important role in the life of every

person. The popular saying goes “Blood is thicker than water”. It means that your

relatives are closer to you than those who are not your family. Good and happy

families in the long run make a happy society.

        I have heard many stories from my mother about the family. I think these

stories are very important for future generations.The family plays a great role for people. In old days the person was inseparable from his genus and the knowledge of his family tree went deeply to antiquity. Each particle of this knowledge was carefully handed down from father to son.

        But now very few people can tell from where their genus originates and

list the names of their ancestors more, than to the third generation. The family

tradition is lost for them. And it is one of the reasons why most people have no

sense of family honour and pride. Why? Have the values of the person really

changed or the man himself?

        At the lessons the teacher often tells us about the importance of the family,

my schoolmates tell interesting stories about their families. I want to learn whether

our family has interesting stories too

Our family tree

        The genealogy or lineage is a science about a family of a person and all his

family relations with other people. By means of it, we managed to restore a family

tree from 11 generations.

        My ancestors on the mother's line came from the village in the southeast of

Tatarstan. My ancestors came here at the beginning of the 18th century from

Central Volga area and the Kazan County. The building of Novo-Moskovskaya Road connecting Orenburg to Kazan became one of the reasons of the resettlement.

It is known that one of my ancestors was summoned by the empress Catherine II and she obliged him to construct a part of this road.

        My ancestors – were yamsky Tatars and had some privileges. So, for example,

they were exempted from public and military service, large territories were

allocated to them for a pasture of horses and crops of oats. It was necessary to

support the stations with the vacation spot for coachmen, inns and stables.

My great-great-grandfather Shavaly is a very important person in the history

of our family. We keep the manuscript in which he specified the genealogical line

from the five generations.

        My family chronicle is restored according to "Revizsky fairy tales" and

registers of births. Studying archival documents, we learned that among my

ancestors there were many representatives of clergy, teachers, and educators.

In one of the registers of births we found the sign of our genus called a

tamga. This sign shows belonging to this or that genus and it is a great luck for us

to find it.

        I am proud of my ancestors. My genus history of 300 years is full of

interesting people and events. To keep all these stories, we published the invaluable

book for the descendants. I would like my history to be on the pages of this book

too, and I must do all my best to make my dream come true. Today my family

makes many efforts to keep the memory of the ancestors.

        As well as in far times, our family holds horses and is engaged in a very

important activity - reviving the Tatar breed of horses which is on the verge of

extinction.

        On the earth, where many generations of my family lived, there is a well-

known mountain. If you climb it, it is possible to see the earth of my ancestors and

to feel the spiritual bond with them. It made a great impression on me.

Conclusion:

        I have realized the purpose and the tasks of the research work. I succeeded

in making up a family tree on the mother’s line.

I got my classmates interested in the idea of learning more about their

ancestors.

        I want to keep the family tree for ourselves and for the future generations.

My hypothesis that the person has to know the history of the family was

confirmed, «The more generations I will remember the more generations will

remember me».
