Alexandrovskaya Sloboda By Lezgina Sophia Teacher: Gordeeva KseniyaСлайд 2
“Alexandrovskaya Sloboda” has a special place amongst the well-known historical and cultural sights of Russia. It was founded and prospered in the 16th century – the time when Russia established itself as the largest European power, the time of the reign of Ivan the 4th.
Слайд 3
The first Russian Tsar visited here regularly over 17 years, and he made Sloboda the uncrowned capital of Russia. Sloboda became the heart of the entire social and political life in the middle of 16th century, and the place where important decisions were made, and where the lands of Russia were united and the Russian Empire was formed in the single state. At this time Russia became the largest European state, and “Alexandrovskaya Sloboda” became the center of foreign and domestic politics, culture and art.
Слайд 4
From here Russian ambassadors travelled to the East and to the countries of West and North Europe. In the places of Sloboda the Tsar met with ambassadors from Sweden, England, Denmark and others. At these visits the clever and powerful Tsar Ivan was named the “Terrible”.
