On November 5 people in Britian celebrate Guy Fawkes Night. Before November 5 people build bonfires and make « guys » . A « guy » is a model of a man , which is made of o ld clothes and newspapers. Then on the evening of November 5 they put « guy » on the bonfire and light it, there is also a lot of fireworks. Why do they do it ? On November 5 1065, a man called Guy Fawkes tried to kill king James 1. He put a bomb under the Houses of Parliament in London, but soldiers discovered him and he was killed. A « guy » represents Guy Fawkes.

On 6 March people in Britian a color festival or « Holy » . It is celebrated in many cities, including : London, Manchester, Bristol and Belfast. People are running across the streets and showering each other with colorful powder.

On April 23 people in Britian celebrate William Shakespeares birthday. In this day people hold different events in honor of this playwright. The biggest celebration is happening in his t own Stratford-on-Avon in Yorkshire. There is a week festival related to Shakespeare.
