                    Noviy  Urengoi.

The city of Noviy Urengoi is situated in North head part of Yamalo – Nenetsky autonomous district of Tyumen region on the left bank of the Pur-river. The gas field discovered here in 1966 turned out to be the biggest in the world. Noviy Urengoi became a proving ground for  perfecting pioneer technologies and know –how of gas development. Noviy – Urengoi is a city with more than 100 thousand population. Most of the citizens are less than 40 years old. Noviy Urengoi is one of the most developed industrial cities of Northern Siberia. There are 2000 enterprises of all kinds of property is the city. Among them 19- industrial, 285- building, 52- in transport, 168- commercial, 10- in communication and 2- agricultural. For two last year 21 secondary schools

of  Noviy Urengoi have been actively assimilating new technologies and traditional teaching methods. There are two children music schools in the city, 4 colleges (technical, medical, pedagogical and  gas industry college). Some institution have  their branches in Noviy Urengoi. Among them Tyumen State University. As the most part of citizens is young sport is welcome to the city. The first in Tyumen region roof – covered skating – rink for hockey and figure – skating was build there as well as 47 sport halls, swimming – pools, 3 cultural and sport complexes, 3 junior sport schools. More 20 kinds of sport are developed there. Seven cultural organizations work in the city. Among them house of culture “October”, children library and central library, National cultures navel, art school, local ethnographic museum. Corner stones of economic basis of Noviy Urengoi are “Gasprom”, “ Urengoigasprom”, “Tyumenburgas” companies.
