Carnival in
Notting

is
Europe's largest festival and one of the

in the world. The history of this holiday is connected with immigrants from Latin America,
who were settled in London

It is
similar to carnival in Rio de Janeiro. The holiday lasts for two days, and
on
the first day there's a special performance for children. During the carnival participants, dressed in
colourful
costumes, walk through the streets,
dancing and
singing, the audience is entertained by jugglers and street bands
. During the carnival
in
Notting
hill

mostly Latin American
music is played,
especially the rhythms of reggae». The holiday is very noisy and dynamically, the total number of participants and
spectators counts about

the 21th of
April, and celebrations are held in different countries of the British Commonwealth of
Nations

usually happens
in
the UK.

Dance around a pole is a traditional dance in Western Europe, especially in England, Sweden and Germany. The dancers walk in a circle, holding colored ribbons tied to a pole.

Dancers can begin to move in the opposite direction in order to unravel the ribbon. Dancing around the may pole is a very old tradition, going back to the German beliefs associated with fertility. Traditionally it takes place in
spring, usually in
M
ay, but
in Sweden
it is celebrated in summer.
