LIMERICKS ЧТО ТАКОЕ «ЛИМЕРИК» КАК ПЕРЕВОДИТЬ ЛИМЕРИКИ КАК СОЧИНИТЬ ЛИМЕРИК
What is a Limerick ? Лимерики – один из самых необычных видов поэзии на английском языке. Это особые пятистишия, чем-то напоминающие русские частушки. В английском языке есть синоним к слову лимерик – нонсенс, то есть небылица.
What is a Limerick ? Эти короткие песенки, стихи-небылицы, нелепицы, происхождение которых по традиции связывают с ирландским городом Лимериком, в котором жил и творил Эдвард Лир. Классические английские лимерики принадлежат Эдварду Лиру. Основное предназначение лимериков - вызывать улыбку и положительные эмоции
LIMERICK [límmərik]
Edward Lear ( 1812 -1888 ) Выпустил «Книгу нонсенса» ( A Book of Nonsense — «Книга бессмыслиц») в Англии в 1821м году, включавшую забавные лимерики. Вскоре этот жанр приобрел значительную популярность. "Книга Нонсенса" Лира, вышедшая в 1846м, была переведена почти на все языки мира (на русский не менее трех раз)

КАК СОЧИНИТЬ ЛИМЕРИК
В лимерике пять строчек, причем первая рифмуется со второй и пятой, а третья с четвертой. There was an Old Man of Peru , (а) Who dreamt he was eating his shoe . (а) He awoke in the night (б) In a terrible fright (б) And found it was perfectly true ! (а)
Жил старый человек в городе Перу, Которому приснилось, что он ест свой ботинок. Он проснулся ночью, Ужасно напуганный. Оказалось, что это правда! …………………………………………… Однажды увидел чудак Во сне, что он ест свой башмак. Он вмиг пробудился И убедился, Что это действительно так!
КАК ПЕРЕВОДИТЬ ЛИМЕРИКИ
Первая строчка рассказывает о том, кто и откуда : There was a young man of Peru …
вторая - что сделал, или что с ним произошло Who wanted to ride a kangaroo …
и далее - чем все закончилось. ( В каноническом лимерике конец последней строчки повторяет конец первой . ) But when he came to the zoo, There was no kangaroo, And that saved the young man of Peru.
Для ребенка очень важны «несерьезные» стишки, где все наоборот и вверх ногами. Спросил меня голос В пустыне дикой: - Много ли в море Растет земляники? - Столько же, сколько Селедок соленых Растет на березах И елках зеленых. (С. Я. Маршак). A man in the wilderness ask me, How many strawberries grow in the sea? I answered him, as I thought good, As many as red herrings grow in the wood. Человек в пустыне дикой Задал мне вопрос на днях: «Много ли растет клубники В океанах и морях?» Был вопрос его нелегок Я ответил ему так: «Ну, не меньше, чем селедок На березах и кустах.»

Some English nonsense rhymes There was an old person of Rye, Who went up to town on a fly; But they said, 'If you cough, You are safe to fall off!' You abstemious old person of Rye!' There was a Young Lady of Troy, Whom several large flies did annoy; Some she killed with a thump, Some she drowned at the pump, And some she took with her to Troy .

Тема: Ролевая игра «Why is English so popular?» (учебник К. Кауфман, М. Кауфман «Happy English. ru 8.)
Цель: формирование коммуникативной компетенции.
Задачи:
обучающие: развить речевые умения: использование в речи средств лексической связи; сопутствующая задача- развить умения пересказать прочитанное от лица данной роли.
развивающие: развить способность оценивать чужое мнение, способность к анализу, обобщению, перефразированию, умение делать выводы.
воспитательные: воспитать уважительное отношение к мнению собеседника, его взглядам, формировать способности к критическому мышлению, воспитание толерантности, воспитание чувства за совместную работу.
Используемые технологии: информационно-коммуникативные технологии, здоровье сберегающие технологии.
Материально-техническое оснащение: доска, компьютер, презентация, учебник, экран и проектор, плакат “Conversation bricks”
Тип урока: Ролевая игра. ( Нестандартный урок.)

We have answered some questions, but there is the main question we haven’t answered yet. Why English? Why is English so popular? They say English is the Latin of the 21-st century. I wonder what people from different countries think about it. Let me introduce all of them. We have 4 groups. They are English historians, Russian translators, rich American businessmen, Indian students. They try to answer this question. By the way, we have two chairpersons today.
