Day Pedestrian

Every country has its own traditions and  holidays. There are a lot of holidays in the world. Each is unique and unusual.

The 21st  century  is  a century of cars. We can't imagine our   life without cars.  Therefore I suggest to establish  the Day of the Pedestrian. It is possible to celebrate it on the 22nd  of June. It is the longest day in a year as people will spend more time for walking than usually.

This holiday is devoted to pedestrians and clean atmosphere. On this day it is forbidden to use any cars. All local transport is forbidden. Planes, trains,  ships are resolved only. All people go on foot to work  in the morning and schoolchildren also walk to school. But it is possible to use rollers as means of transportation. There is only one exception for  special services – police, ambulance, firemen.

In the evening people gather  in the small companies and walk. In the streets you can see posters with slogans: Don’t pollute the atmosphere! Keep the air clean!

                       Round Holiday

    My name is Shushanna. I like to celebrate holidays. My friends say that I am a very merry girl. I believe them. I have an interesting idea: to organize a “Round Holiday” 08.08.

    People send round cards and cook pancakes on this day.

Children organize a competition: you must name all round things. For example: the Sun, the Moon, a coin, a wheel.

The winner gets a round prize.

    The children play only ball games on this holiday. Girls and women wear dresses ”in goroshek”.

     The best food is a pancake. The best dessert is a round cake. Children dance round dance (horovod).

You can visit shows of nice plates.

               It is a Round Holiday!

The Cyclist Day

I suggest to celebrate The Cyclist Day. This day will be devoted to all amateurs of cycle racing and simply to those who always wants to be healthy and strong. On this day all people must refuse of any other kinds of transport and go only by bicycle. Different competitions may also be held on this day. I suggest the following competitions:

1. The best cyclist

2. The youngest cyclist

    The oldest cyclist

3. The best expert of traffic rules

4. The most modern bicycle

5. The motto of a cyclist

The Cyclist Day may be held on one of the summer days, for example, on the 10th of June. Being cheerful and healthy on this day will be the best present for all people.

                                                 FRUIT DAY

     All people like to celebrate holidays. There are a lot of holidays in the world. I like all holidays, because we don’t go to school and stay at home. My sister, my brother and I usually have a lot of fun together. But I would like to have more holidays.

     I enjoy eating fruits and  I want to have “Fruit Day”. On this day people eat different fruits: oranges, apples, plums, cherries, apricots, peaches. They drink fruit juices and eat fruit salads and yoghurts. Mothers cook fruit soup. Grandmothers cook fruit jam. Fathers buy fruits.

     Every pupil learns a poem about fruits and brings puzzles about fruits to school.

The teachers have new names on this day: Mrs. Pear, Mr. Orange, Mrs. Plum, Mr. Lemon. They bring a basket of fruits and give them to children instead of marks.

    People celebrate “Fruit Day” in September when we have a lot of fresh fruits.

Families go to the cafes to eat fruit dishes there. Boys and girls go to the “Fruit” parties. They  send “Fruit” cards each other.  They plant new fruit trees in the gardens.

                                    It’s my idea of a  new holiday.
