Today there are about 200 ghost towns.

They are situated in Colorado, California, Arizona, Montana and others.

Tourists often visit them.

When they see the deserted streets of these towns they say: “Oh My God”.

They try to imagine that many years ago people lived here.

But now you can see nobody here and hear nothing…

One of these towns is Kords town in Arizona.

It was founded in 1883.

12 years later there lived more than 400 people.

And in 1926 it became a real centre. There you could see bars, churches and shops.

In 1955 the coal mines in it were closed and people started to go away.

Now it is so silent and empty…

Another story has Mokelumne Hill, situated in California.

It was founded occasionally as the result of the gold rush

In 1848 there lived almost 12000 people.

It was one of the cruelest cities

39 sheriffs and more than thousand citizens were killed in it.

People were looking for gold and the man’s life cost nothing.

Fate of these ‘ghost towns’ is unknown.

Maybe one day they will disappear at all.

But maybe people continue to visit them and there we’ll a hotel or a cinema for tourists…
