INTRODUCTION The term "population growth" refers to how the number of individuals in a population increases (or decreses) with time.

Earth's population is increasing by 10 000 an hour. The UN forecast is 9.3 billion by 2050.

Overpopulation influences the climate change. More people require more energy. This energy is mostly produced by burning carbon-emitting fossil fuels, what causes a “green-house” effect. DANGEROUS CLIMATE CHANGE

THIRST Each year, as the world population grows, demand for fresh water increases. Now about 3 billion people suffer from lack of water and poor sanitation.

WILD LIFE VANISHING Human overpopulation is critical for wild life, as people in overpopulated areas invade the habitats and with the rise of poverty start to hunt illegally.

As people need energy and food they cut forests for timber and wood, or burn them down to convert to farmland. DEFORESTATION

WARS Limited resources, especially energy, make people fight for them.
