мини-проект “A local wonder: Sport stadium “South”
Этот мини-проект выполнен ученицами 10 Б класса Аджимуллаевой Элиной и Айвазовой Эльвирой, обучающимся по УМК Enjoy English – 10 авт. Биболетовой М. З. со 2-го класса. Мини-проект был подготовлен как презентация по теме “A local wonder” (SB, p.117, Ex.91 – a presentation about a man-made wonder in the place where they live). Элина и Эльвира представили презентацию – представление нашего «местного чуда» - спортивного стадиона «Южный» в селе Красный Яр Астраханской области. Данный мини-проект показывает нынешнее современное спортивное сооружение, выполненное руками человека. Стадион уже сейчас пользуется большой известностью и славой как одно из крупнейших подобных сооружений в области и регионе для развития спорта и с целью укрепления здоровья молодого поколения сегодняшних красноярцев.

The place where we live: Krasny Yar
Our popular local wonder is considered the stadium “ South” ( “Yuzhny”)
Our stadium “South” is one of the best modern sport complexes of Astrakhan region. It has been built for two years and was opened in 2005, July 9th. Our honor guests soviet t hree – time Olympic figure skating world champion Irina Rodnina and the regional governor Alexander Zhilkin came to its ceremonial opening . More than 30 million rubles were spent for construction of this great stadium.
The structure of the stadium: Volleyball court; Basketball court; Handball court; Football court; Jogging track; The sector for jumping; Grandstand; Children playground.
The stadium “South” is a place of mass gathering of young people and children. It is a place where are held different sport games, concerts, sport days and festivals . The stadium became an entertainment and cultural center for all the people in Krasny Yar. It is a great place where you can relax and support your physical tonus.
Advantages of its construction: a lot of grandstands; a n opportunity to play different sports games for people; a n opportunity to keep fit; a n a vailability of gym equipment; children beach is not far from the stadium
Disadvantages of this stadium: not all sport playgrounds have good protection from the sun; sometimes there isn’t special sports equipment on additional areas (for skating rink, for example); lack of coolers for drinking water upsets our visitors .
