In the English national cuisine, there are many traditional dishes. Not to mention the sweet and savory puddings, served with meat or dessert, potato casseroles with beef, sheep meat and fish and toast. Many of the traditional dishes are served only on holidays. Among them are popular Christmas pudding for Christmas, cross buns for Easter, potatoes with sausages

Roast Chicken

It’s one of original recipes of a roast chicken for Christmas Day.

Ingredients:

Home Chicken 2kg

1 green apple

1 orange

1 glass of white wine

3 cloves of garlic

dried herbs for chicken

dill and radish to taste

salt and pepper - to taste vegetable oil  

Pumpkin Soup

Pumpkin Soup - a traditional British dish, served hot in the autumn-winter period in British families

Ingredients:

500 of the cleared pumpkin

1 tea cup of grated cheese

A red pepper

3 tbsp of tomato paste

1/2 cups of sour cream

1-2  of a spoon of small  fresh parsley

One bank of a sardine in oil

1 tbsp of butter

an  onion

Hot Cross Buns

In England cross buns are traditionally eaten on Good Friday.

Ingredients:

1 cup sugar
A glass of milk
Eggs 2pcs
A teaspoon of cinnamon
To decorate and glaze:
3 tablespoons sugar.
1 cup flour
1 cup milk

Yorkshire pudding

Traditional English Yorkshire pudding. Prepared from the batter, usually served with roast beef and gravy.

Ingredients:

Wheat flour - 100 g

Salt

Egg - 1 pc.

Milk - 250 ml

vegetable oil - 25 g

     

Shepherd's pie

Meat pie stuffed with meat and mashed potatoes, a traditional dish of British cuisine.

Ingredients:

500g minced lamb

700 g of potatoes

Onion

1 carrot

Green peas 3 tbsp

1 Garlic

Pepper, salt to taste

150 g of cheese

1 tbsp of flour

1 egg
