• Welcome to our presentation of the project “Let’s save our town”! (слайд 1)

• We are the pupils of the 8-th form. We live in Mikhailovka. (слайд 2)

• There are parks, lakes, forests and a river in our town. Our forest is our life! (слайд 3)

• Our town is our home. So the main aim is environmental protection.

• There are different kinds of ecological problems we face to. They are: air pollution, water pollution, deforestation. (слайд 5)

• What are the sources of pollution? (слайд 6)

• They are: factories, transport and waste. (слайд 7)
• Numbers of visitors to the forest from year to year change it. So we decided to interview 76 people in the streets and other public places. Have a look at the results:

     How often do you go to the forest? (слайд 8)

• 24% - once a week only during the summer

• 18% - several times a year

• 18% - once a week

• 14% - occasionally

• 9% - several times a week

• 9% - constantly in the holiday period

• 7% - do not go far

• 1% - other answers  

    What are the most important environmental problems of the forest? (слайд 9)

• 31% - forest fires
• 26% - too many tourists, hunters, mushroom pickers
• 22% - domestic and industrial waste
• 10% - uncontrolled cutting the trees down
• 8% - damage and loss of forests due to industrial pollution
• 3% - the natural death of old-growth forests

         Now we see that there are a lot of problems… And we can solve them only

         together!

• What must we do to solve ecological problems? (слайд 10)

• Never drop litter!                            
• Try not to waste energy!
• Walk or cycle whenever possible!
• Don’t waste paper!
• Try not to waste water!
• Put out food for wild animals in winter!
• Be careful with fire in the forest!

town!!! 

 Miсhailovka must be clean!

    There are a lot of industrial enterprises in Miсhailovka. That’s why we can’t ignore the problem of the protection of our environment.

     Our main aim is the protection! 

     We have to control atmospheric and water pollution, to study the man’s influence on the climate. The pollution of the environment influences the life of animals, plants and our human life.

Look around! 

Our factories put their waste materials into atmosphere and water and pollute the environment.

People waste litter and paper everywhere.

There are many kinds of transport in our town.

People leave burning or smoldering fire in the forests. Responsible for more than 90% of forests is careless handling of people with fire.

     Numbers of visitors to the forest from year to year change it. Our forest is not only a source of useful plant products.

     So we decided to interview 76 people in the streets and other public places. They were asked only 2 questions:

• How often do you go to the forest?

• What are the most important environmental problems of the forest?

• on average once a week only during the summer - 24%
• several times a year - 18%
• on average once a week - 18%
• occasionally - 14%
•  several times a week – 9%
• constantly in the holiday period - 9%
• do not go far - 7%
• other answers - 1%

What are the most important environmental problems of the forest?

• forest fires - 31%
• too many tourists, hunters, mushroom pickers - 26%

• domestic and industrial waste - 22%

You must remember!

     It goes without saying, it’s very important to make Miсhailovka better. It’s quite easy. We should just follow some rules.

     Here they are:

• Never leave any litter and paper in the streets and forests!
• Be careful with fire in the forest!
• Walk or cycle whenever possible! Cars make air dirty.
• Try not to waste energy and water!

     Now we see that there are a lot of problems… And we can solve them only together!
