England is the largest and the richest country of Great Britain. The capital of England is London but there are other large industrial cities, such as Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and other famous and interesting cities such as York, Cambridge there. Cambridge Manchester Birmingham London
When people travel to Britain by sea or by air they usually arrive in the Southeast as the main airports and ports are situated there for example Heathrow Airport, one of the world’s busiest airports.
The Southwest is a farming region. It is a popular place among artists, painters and holidaymakers. Stonehenge and Land’s End are situated there.
East Anglia is very flat and it’s another farming region which produces good harvest. This region is famous for Cambridge where the 13th century University is located and the Fens where Oliver Cromwell was born. Oliver Cromwell
The Midlands known as the heart of England is the largest industrial part in the country.
The North of England has on the one hand some of the wildest and loneliest parts of the country but on the other hand it has some of the busiest industrial cities. This part of England is rich in coal. Lake District
Buckingham Palace. Buckingham Palace is the official London residence of Queen Elizabeth II . It is situated just opposite the street Pall-Mall and Green Park. For the first time it was open to visitors in 1993. In the Palace there are lush public celebrations for the royal guests. Buckingham Palace is one of the major tourist centers of the country.
Building that now forms the basis of the Palace was built for the Duke of Buckingham. The Palace at that time became the « House of the Queen » . George Villiers
The building is a symbol of the unity of the nations tragic periods and the days of joy. Originally it was built as a Buckingham home.
Today, Buckingham Palace is the seat of Queen Elizabeth II and members of the Royal Family. More then 50 thousand people visit Buckingham Palace every year.
England is a very interesting and beautiful part of Great Britain and I would like to visit it.
