In 1957 it was decided the construction of the tower in order to place the TV antenna. For good reception of the radio signal to place it at a height of not less than 380 meters. The chief designer was N. Nikitin . The tower project was a dream in one night. Inverted Lily, a flower with a sturdy petals and stem, has become a way of the planned facilities. The stability of the tower is determined by the same principle as in Vanka -Poly. Chief architect is L. I. Batalov . Also in the construction involved the architects D. I. Burdin , M. A. Scud and L. I. Sipkin .

TV tower The TV tower was built from 1963 to 1967. In 5 November 1967 began airing four television and three radio programs. Powerful transmitters provided the reception at a distance of 120 km from the tower. Earned and a new television station on street Akademika Koroleva , 12. Then the tower became the tallest building in the world.
