Athletics is an Olympic sport, including running, walking, jumping and throwing.

Modern athletics began its journey with separate attempts in different countries to hold competitions in running, jumping and throwing. It is believed that the beginning of the history of modern athletics put the competition in the run for a distance of about 2 km students at the College of Rugby (United Kingdom) in 1837, after which such competitions were held in other educational institutions in the UK.
