World Wide Fund for Nature Its an international non-governmental organization, which works on problems regarding the conservation, research and restoration of the environment. This is the world's largest independent organization with more than 5 million supporters worldwide. The mission of the World Wildlife Fund is to prevent the degradation of the planet's natural environment and achieve harmony between man and nature. The main purpose is to save Earth's biological diversity . It was founded in 1961, and the symbol of WWF is Panda.

It was founded in Vancouver (Canada), on the 15 th of September, in 1971 by David McTaggart . In the USSR “Greenpeace” appeared in 1989 due to the sale of the album "Greenpeace. Breakthrough“. The album was released worldwide in about 10 million copies. In July 1989, at a press conference of Greenpeace Alexey Yablokov , a chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection of the USSR, announced Greenpeace office in the Soviet Union "the first independent organization in the USSR."

Forest project of Greenpeace Forestry Program has become one of the first projects of Greenpeace in Russia. Since 2002, under the Project "Revive our forests," Greenpeace and Russian students have been taking part in the restoration of forests in sparsely populated regions of Russia. During the existence of the project, it was attended by 252 schools, and 186000 seedlings of pine, oak, alder, elm and maple were planted. In 2004, this project became an all-Russian movement “Revive our forest,“ and more than 500 participants from 57 regions of Russia take part in it now.

Greenpeace is often criticized by some scientific communities, including professional ecologists, who believe that the activities of Greenpeace brings more harm than good for nature. Some of the statements of Greenpeace about genetically-modified products have been criticized for bias. Some people say that some actions of Greenpeace have been financed by competitors of the companies against which the organization served. Some critics also believe that Greenpeace is used for political purposes. At the same time, representatives of "Greenpeace" reject all these accusations.
