TFSI engines are turbocharged engines which generally are installed on AUDI cars, and also on some Skoda models. Many admirers of a brand, can mix TFSI and TSI engines it not correctly, these engines different both on a structure and according to characteristics. However the TFSI engine has much in common with the FSI engine, the usual not turbocharged.

Двигатель FSI ( Fuel Stratified Injection ) самый старый и поверенный двигатель концерна Volkswagen , именно этот двигатель стал родоначальником двигателя TFSI. Концерн поставил перед собой задачу повысить эффективность двигателя FSI, а также увеличить мощность и уменьшить количество вредных выбросов в атмосферу. Для двигателя FSI характерен непосредственный впрыск топлива именно в сами цилиндры. Двигатель TFSI, имеет практически такую же конструкцию двигателя, как и FSI и тот же впрыск топлива, непосредственно в цилиндры. Однако изменений также не мало. Первым делом изменили конструкцию поршней двигателя. Днище поршня было изменено таким образом, чтобы двигатель мог работать при сниженной степени сжатия.

The TSI engine is also turbocharged engine. However it is so-called "twin turbo" or double турбонадув . And also there is an electric compressor which forcibly forces air pressure practically always. Supply of fuel is carried out not in engine cylinders, and in a special inlet collector. Thus, TSI engine more modern, than TFSI. Acceleration performance of the TSI engine is higher, than at TFSI in all range of works. And now small video of operation of the TFSI engine. The TFSI engine - if it is possible to be expressed roughly, it is the turbocharged FSI engine about what the letter "T" before FSI abbreviation speaks. There is one mechanical turbine which is installed on a final collector. Injection of fuel at such engine goes directly to engine cylinders.
