В ходе урока студенты развивают навыки просмотрового и поискового чтения, аудирования, говорения, письма, умение работать в группе. Приобретают знания, связанные с выбранной профессией. Получают опыт работы с образовательными Интернет ресурсами сети.
Данное занятие с использованием веб-технологий было представлено на Пятый открытыйпрофессиональный конкурс педагогов "Мультимедиа урок в современнойшколе", проводимый Международным Институтом Развития «ЭкоПро», образовательным порталом Мой университет, факультет мультимедиа технологий. Конкурсные материалы успешно прошли проверку на плагиат, получили положительные отзывы и заняли 7-е место. Публикация материалов и участие в конкурсе подтверждаются сертификатом (регистрационный номер КММ-692).

IRKUTSK Irkutsk, the capital of East Siberia , is one of the largest cities in Russia. About 633 thousand people live in the city. It was founded in 1661 by the boyar’s son Yakov Pokhabov . It stands on the banks of the Angara river. Irkutsk is a historical city. It plays an important role in the history of Russia. Its streets are a picture of time. Like all the old cities Irkutsk did not avoid numerous fires. That’s why there are very few houses that go back to the time when Irkutsk was not a city. One of them is the Church of Our Savior . It was built in 1706 . The Kirov Square is the central square in Irkutsk. It had changed its name several times: Kremlyevskaya, Tikhvinskaya . It is also the oldest part of the city. There was a wonderful architectural ensemble with 1 cathedral, 4 churches and the Catholic Church. Unfortunately, only the Church of Our Savior, the Church of Epiphany , and the Catholic Church survived. Irkutsk is a scientific and cultural center with a lot of institutes, universities, libraries, museums. It has a lot of cinemas, clubs, 2 concert halls and many theatres, including the Drama Theatre , the Musical Theatre , the Puppet Theatre , the Young Spectators Theater .
