What is it like?
Rusaevka is a provincial town. It is not far from Saransk, the capital of Mordovia. Rusaevka is famous for its railway and its people.
Rusaevka was founded in 1631. It is a great place to live. Rusaevka is a quiet town surrounded by fields and woods. It is home to more 50 000 people.
Today the town looks quite different from what it looked before. It is a growing town with high buildings, tree-lined streets and shops.
Lenin Street is the main street of our town.
In Rusaevka we usually start sightseeing from the town chapel. Visitors to Rusaevka should try to see the Art Gallery, a museum. There is a park where the citizen can spend their free time.
A lot of people in Rusaevka like gardening. Most of them grow vegetables. Home-grow vegetables taste better than those in shops. The local people grow flowers and puy them, spend time fishing.
Rusaevka is a town of science. The Branch of Samara Railway Engineering Academy trains qualified specialists not only for the Kuibyshev railway but also for other railways and railway enterprises of Russia.
This is Gymnasium № 1. It was built 100 years ago. Sergei Ivanovich Vandyshev the Hero of Russia, studied here. The Memorial plaque devoted to S.I. Vandyshev was unveiled on the building of the Gymnasium № 1.
Today Rusaevka is one of the largest industrial towns of Mordovia. There are 15 enterprises here. OAO “ Ruzkhimmash” is more 40 years old.Visitors are very impressed by the giant plant.
Rusaevka is known for its writers, singers, painters, actresses.
