      Literature  plays  a  very important  role  in  the  life  of  the  people  in   any  time  and  in  any  society.  It  educates  a  person, enriches  his  intellect  helps to mould   a person`s character,  form  his moral  values,  besides,  it  brings pleasure   and  delight. It`s  a  wonderful  way of  spending spare  time.

     The  dependence  of   life  of  modern society on different forms of  art  is  obvious. People can`t live without expressing themselves.  Some are good at drawing, some at dancing,  others  at singing  or  writing.  Literature  is one of those  forms of expression of  human  experience through  language. Literally  the  word  «literature»  means  «letters». That`s why in ancient times educated people were  called  «men of letters». We can`t imagine our literature without such greatest name as Alexander Pushkin. He is considered to be one of the greatest  Russian  poets of  all times. He was a famous writer of  Romantic era. Many people regard him as the founder of  Russian  modern literature. No-one is challenging the view that he occupies an outstanding place in Russian literature and  culture  Lev  Nicolayevich Tolstoy was an outstanding  Russian novelist and short story writer. His literary works were world-famous and had a profound impact on many other writers of the world.  Anton  Pavlovich  Chehov was a famous Russian playwright. He considered to be one of the greatest writers of short stories in the world. His best short stories are held in high esteem by other writers and critics. Great Britain  also  has given lots of prominent people to the world of  literature, one of the noblest and most famous man of all was William Shakespeare. He was a famous English poet and playwright. He is also considered to be the father of sonnets. Almost all his literary works have been translated into more than 30 languages. The era of  Romanticism regarded  Shakespeare as genius and a lot of  other  writers got inspiration from his works.

I simply can`t imagine my life without literature. It taught  me  so  many things that I can use in real life today. Books teach us morals, empathy, social behavior, etc. Literature helps to understand what`s right and what`s wrong. Although, each time we read a new book, we see things from the author`s point of view, we can adapt  information for ourselves. Everyone takes something different from what the author wrote. In my opinion, literature is one of the best gifts that human beings  received. Many people think that books are only author`s imagination or just words on a piece of paper. However, literature means much more than that.                                                    

First of all it  allows  both  writers  and  readers  to  look  back at their memories and express them through words. It can  bring  a great relief to a person. Secondly, people  can share their own experience to help others. It includes guidebooks or cookbooks. Thirdly, literature allows readers to learn life lessons from other people`s mistakes.  Fourthly, literature enriches our mind. We can learn about the world  history,  biological  facts, chemistry reactions, etymology of words and lots of other interesting information from books. Throughout the centuries books had an enormous influence on the minds and hearts of people.  Literature binds together agers, personalities. Thanks to literature we can talk to people who lived in different countries and ages. Through reading  books  we hear their voices thoughts and feelings. The book is the surest way to bring nations together. It helps people achieve understanding, trust, cooperation and friendship.  Boors awaken the young reader`s imagination. They develop literary taste, arose interest and curiosity, the reader`s laugher as well as his tears. They teach the readers to be truthful, friendly, honest, decisive, frank, fair and serious. Books give food for our mind and warmth for our soul. It is a magic of books to make us feel different emotions by simple words that go deep into our soul and have a great impact on our characters. We are influenced by good examples, they form our moral values and makes us to realize who we are. But no one source of information can give you

such strong feeling of belonging to the each step and thought of the heroes as literature.

   In conclusion  I`d like to say that literature opens up many doors for people. They just need to read more and to discover these opportunities. Thanks to literature we learn to express our thoughts and feelings more exactly. It is faithful and understanding friend.
