TATARSTAN REPUBLIC Tatarstan’s capital is Kazan. It’s on the River Volga and River Kazanka. Tatars population is about 6 million people. There are also many Russians and 37 other nationalities. Many people speak the Russian and Tatar languages. Their religion is Muslim.
