Интегрированный урок (английский – история)

Тема: “Are you true patriots?”

 В основе урока  заложена  концепция развития индивидуальности в диалоге культур заслуженного деятеля науки РФ, доктора педагогических наук, профессора  Е.И.Пассова.

Развитие национального самосознания, гордости и уважения к своему историческому наследию, более глубокого осмысления роли своей малой Родины в современном мире служит формированию поликультурной личности школьников. Воспитание этике дискуссионного общения  и этике взаимодействия с людьми осуществляется через обучение учащихся социально приемлемым нормам общения с учетом важнейших компонентов коммуникативной ситуации, которые определяют выбор языковых средств, разговорных формул для реализации функции общения.

T:  Hello! Glad to see you. I hope everything is all right. I know you have to work hard. And of course you need relaxation. If people have a hobby it helps them to relax. As for me I enjoy travelling. And what do you enjoy doing?

Students’ answers.  

T:  But a lot of people are also fond of travelling. And at our school there is a good tradition to travel round this country. In this photo you can see the English teacher, Ludmila Tupenkina, with her pupils. They took a trip to one of the greatest cities of Russia in autumn.  In the photo you can see the city they visited then.

T: And this is another picture of this city. Is this sight unique? What’s its name? What can you say about the architecture of that great cathedral? Have you ever

 been there? Would you like to visit this wonderful cathedral?

T. of history informs the students about the peculiarities of the sight.

T: Everybody knows that St. Petersburg is a treasure house of priceless       collections that present the best achievements of mankind. Why is it important to be interested in the cultural heritage of Russia?  As for me I can learn more about the world’s treasures of culture. And what do you think about it?

T: A lot of people try to learn more about the   greatest achievements in their countries and tell the most interesting facts to their friends over the Internet, writing articles and letters to various magazines. At home you read the letters of some British teenagers who were describing some widely- known places in their country.                                                                                                       Why have they chosen just those items? How do they explain their choice?  

 Do they feel patriotic excitement?

T: Listen to your classmates’ descriptions and express your attitude to the places, mentioned by the students. Use suitable words and expressions

(Who’d have thought of it? How interesting?  You must be joking!  Fantastic!

T:  Do British teenagers feel proud in their country?

T: And what about Russian people?  It’s not arguable that Russian people are hospitable people. They are also always ready to show their guests the things they consider being glorious. Are there any places that can attract tourists in Lipetsk region? Are we proud of them?

 Students’ answers.

T:  Now let’s think about the things we are going to discuss at the lesson.

T:  People who rate the achievements of their region highly can be regarded patriots. And at home you were to find the definition of the word ‘patriot’.

 - What person can be called a patriot to your mind? 

S-s:   A person who strongly supports his country and its way of life. (ОУД) 

T: - Do you think that you are also patriots of your homeland?  

      I strongly hope you are. Let’s see if it is really so.

T: In modern life there are a lot of successes that make the region famous. Let’s listen to the dialogue between two teenagers about the treatment at Lipetsk resort.

T:  Are you able to represent Lipetsk best achievements in order to praise and make them world famous. I firmly believe you are. Let’s organize some groups and play. You are going to be a staff of the shops that sell the production of some Lipetsk enterprises. Imagine that your aim is to attract more tourists to the shop and make the articles well-known abroad. First read the information about them. Then do your best in order to persuade the customer to buy one of the things. Tell about the main characteristics that make the thing unique. Use the facts from these texts. The first group is to represent Lipetsk design’s household articles, the second one- Eletsk lace and the third one- Lipetsk ice-cream. Along the variants suggested by me there is a list of unknown words.

I’ve heard a mud cure gives a sense of complete relaxation.

     -   Just fancy.  Nothing can beat it.

- That’ not really surprising because the procedures are enjoyed by all  my relatives.

- I would advise you to use Lipetsk mineral water.

- Are you serious?

- One thing is sure, though. You’ll feel absolutely fine.

The information about ‘Lipetsk designs’ enterprise.  Lipetskie uzory  or ‘Lipetsk designs’ is a folk handicraft of making wooden articles with artistic painting in the Lipetsk Region, The handicraft originated back in the 18th century in the outskirts of  Lipetsk. Traditionally household articles (such as bowls, cups, ladles, scoops, etc.) were handmade of linden that was growing in plenty in the area. According to the traditional technology, making of any item, be it a small spoon or a big decorative set, takes exactly 72 days. Lipetsk painting designs are images of butterflies, birds, fish, and stylized animals. Rich picturesque nature of the Russian south land reflects the character of ornamentation, and a ripe ear of wheat in Lipetsk motifs has become the symbol of well-being. In addition to painted wooden things, Lipetsk artists working at the factory use the same decorative style in painting of metal items, in particular.

Special characteristic of Eletsk lace is famous for its extremely fine workmanship and elegance.  The colour of the lace is various nowadays. The masterpieces of Eletsk lace are designed to impress with their originality and amazingly intricate patterns. The best articles attract attention of customers and specialists immediately. Numerous diplomas and medals prove high quality of the lace. The best articles are traditionally sold both in Russia and abroad. Trimmed with light lace, dresses look gorgeous and stylish. It’s the tops! You’d be nuts to miss a chance to buy them.

     Lipetsk ice cream- high quality ice cream is  popular not only in the Lipetsk region but also in 48 cities and towns in Russia. Lipetsk Group of Refrigerating Enterprises,  a well-known maker of ice cream which uses first-class ingredients  has excellent quality control and the  workers are proud of what they make. They started making ice cream in 1980s. Now they make up to 150 various sorts of ice cream. Seven ice cream producing lines make 105 tons of ice cream every day. 10% of the ice cream produced in this country is made in Lipetsk. For the last five years the Lipetsk Group of Refrigerating Enterprises has won numerous awards and prizes. At the regional exhibition The Festival of Ice Cream '99 in Rostov-on-Don, the Lipetsk Refrigerating Group of  Enterprises took the first place and received the diploma and The Best Ice Cream Cup. At the international exhibition in France Lipetsk ice cream makers received the International Europe Award for Quality.

Информация о Гагаринской стоянке.

Всемирной известностью пользуется  Гагаринская верхнепалеолитическая  стоянка (Задонский р-н, около 22 тыс. лет назад). На памятнике изучено первое в пределах бывшего СССР верхнепалеолитическое жилое сооружение на стоянке открытого типа.

Впервые в России здесь, на стоянке открытого типа, найдены остатки долговременного палеолитического жилища, серия (14 штук) статуэток из бивня мамонта, изображающих женское божество, 11 тысяч орудий труда и изделий из камня, 500 орудий труда и украшений из кости, а также кости со следами обработки.

         В сокровищницу мировой культуры Гагаринская стоянка вошла благодаря находкам изящных женских статуэток, вырезанных из бивней мамонтов, т.н. «палеолитических Венер», которые подчеркивали особую роль женщины в первобытном обществе, отражая культ хранительницы домашнего очага, продолжательницы рода.

Информация о Липецком курорте.

Немногим известно, что Липецк — один из первых городских курортов России. Курорт «Липецкие минеральные воды» учрежден в 1805 году и вскоре получил всероссийскую известность. По качеству природных лечебных средства — минеральных вод и железистых грязей — Липецк сравнивали с лучшими европейскими курортами. Благодаря курорту город быстро благоустраивался и имел «более вид какого-то зажиточного германского городка, чем русского уездного города, с идеей которого у вас всегда связано понятие грязи, пыли, тесноты и неопрятности». В разное время здесь работали выдающиеся архитекторы — Воронихин, Мельников, Машков. К концу XIX века сложилось общее мнение, что Липецк «принадлежит к числу самых красивых и привлекательных уездных городов Российской империи». Липецкий курорт посещали известные писатели и поэты, музыканты и актеры, революционеры-народники, здесь залечивали раны русские солдаты и офицеры. В летнее время на курорте устраивались великолепные балы, фейерверки и иллюминации, концерты и спектакли.
