Тема урока: «FOOD.IDIOMS AND SAYINGS ABOUT FOOD»

Тип урока комбинированный

Цели урока:

Содержательная: обобщить и систематизировать лексический материал; Деятельностная: формирование грамматического материала  по теме «Shopping time and Food»

Создать условия для формирования УУД:

- личностные УУД: способность к самооценке на основе критерия успешности учебной деятельности, мотивация учебной деятельности;

- регулятивные УУД: оценивать результаты своей деятельности, анализировать собственную работу, планировать свое действие в соответствии с поставленной задачей, определять цель учебной деятельности (этапа) в сотрудничестве с учителем;

коммуникативные УУД: тренировать коммуникативные умения  слушать друг друга, строить речевые высказывания, выражать свою точку зрения, аргументировать ее, работать в парах и группах;

- познавательные УУД: систематизировать материал, сравнивать и рассуждать, ориентироваться в тексте, находить нужную информацию,   сворачивать учебный материал, кратко излагая его.

Оборудование: Учебник, использование ИКТ, рабочая тетрадь, карточки для индивидуальной работы, раздаточный материал.

T: Good-morning boys and girls and our guests!

I am glad to see you! Sit down please.  How are you today?

Ps: -Good-morning teacher. Fine, thanks.

T: I am very glad to see you in my café. My café’s name is “Master chef”. Do you know what Master chef is? Do you know, boys and girls? Do you know who master chef is?

 Ps: It’s a person. It’s you.

 T: You are right it’s me. I’m the master chef. Master chef is a professional cook. The head cook in a restaurant or in a café.

 T: Boys and girls, and every café has its own rules. Let’s see the rules of this café. Will you help me? To be successful we must speak….

    speak English/Russian

    be active/passive

    be sad/happy

Ps: English

T: To be successful we must be active or passive?

Ps: active

 T: Yes, thank you, you are right. And to be successful we must be sad or happy?

 Ps: happy

T: Yes, thank you. We must be happy. Ok, now please look at the whiteboard and watch video and tell me - What is the main dish we will study to cook today?

Ps: Food idioms!

T: Yees, you are absolutely right! The main dish of our lesson today is food idioms.

If you want to cook it you should do several tasks at my café. Do you want to start?

Ps: Yes!

T: Let’s start!

T: Well, the first task is answer my questions!

- What Do you like to eat  for breakfast?

- Do you like porridge with butter?

-Do you like to eat sweets?

- Do you like fast food?

- Do you like spicy food?

  1. Основная часть урока. Предъявление нового материала. Упр.1. a) Повторение, введение новой лексики и выражений по теме «Food Idioms».

T: If you want to cook Food Idiom, you should know some ingredients! Now look at the blackboard and repeat after me.

Cool as a cucumber

Coach potato

Bad apple

crying over spilt milk

big cheese

     to be hungry as a hunter

     full of beans

     cup of tea

T: Ok, thank you. Let’s do the exercise. You should choose the right word. One minute to look through the exercise.

1. I’m sorry that you broke your bicycle, but it’s no use crying over spilt ….

T: Very good. The next task. Now look at the pictures and tell me what expression suits to these pictures.

T: Let’s have a little break ! Stand up please.

(дети выполняют физкультминутку.)

Up, down, up, down. (руки вверх, вниз)

Which is the way to London Town? (шагаем на месте)

Where? Where? (руку к глазам, повороты влево, вправо)

Up in the air, (смотрим вверх)

Close your eyes  (закрываем глаза)

And you are there! (разводим руки в стороны)

T: read it and translate.

It was the worst day in all my colleagues’ life when we met our new boss. He was a big cheese but he was so rude with people that they couldn't work with him. The common good was not his cup of tea. I was a young woman, who was always ready to work hard and full of beans but I couldn't work with our new boss, so I decided to find a new job.

T: Children, right now you should make up sentences, using our new idioms. 

Ok. I think now you can use our food idioms in your speech. Do you agree with me?

T: Do you want to play with me?

Ps: Yes!

T:Good! Let’s play the game. I will be a waiter at my caffee and you will be my clients. Here are some menus. Let’s read them and translate. ( Учитель раздает меню, читаем и переводим)

T: Now you will hear the dialogs. After listening them you should answer my question. (аудирование).

T: Now you should make up a dialog from these sentences. Read it and translate.

  1. Waiter: May I take your order, sir?
    Nick: Yes. I’d like to try the steak, please.
    Waiter: How about the sweet?
    Nick: No sweet thanks. Just coffee.
    Waiter: Leaded or unleaded?
    Nick: Unleaded, please.

            Waiter: What would you like afterwards?
            Nick: I’d like ice-cream, please.

            Nick: Thank you. How much is that?

            Waiter: 8 dollars.
            Nick: Here. Keep the change.
            Waiter: Thank you very much, sir.

2) Waiter: Hello! Can I help you?

Client: Hi! Yes. I am hungry as a hunter!

Waiter: This is our menu.

Client:  Thank you.

Client:   I’d like to have a chocolate cake.

Waiter:    Anything else?

Client   Ok. Salad and bread.

Waiter:     Drinks?

Client:   Yes, coffee, please.

Waiter: Sure, anything else?

 Client:   Thank you. How much is that?

Waiter: 9 dollars

3)Client: Hello!

Waiter: Hi! Come in, please.

Client:  Thank you.

Waiter: This is our menu. Have some soup.

Client:   No, thank you. I don't like soup.

Waiter:    Have some meat and potatoes, please.

Client   Ok. Meat and potatoes.

Waiter:     And to drink?    

Client:    Have you got any juice?

 Waiter:     We've got orange juice, apple juice, lemon juice and tomato juice.

Client:   Apple juice, please.

Заключительная часть урока

T: “Activity is the only road to knowledge” said George Bernard Show. What does it mean? Do you agree with him?

T:Today, at the lesson WE HAVE…

  • Done….

T:Open your diary and write down your homework. Today we have learned a lot of food idioms, worked with dialogs, so you should make up your own dialogs using food idioms and act them.

And I think that today lesson we had a very interesting and useful lesson. Now you can cook new English dish – Food Idioms! I’m satisfied with your work and you should to give yourself a mark (дети оценивают себя)
